- Y Griffiny Worldwide Iron is the most famous thing in Scunthorpe at the moment and the cult is still growing.

Ian Matthews was known as Ian McDonald and sang with the Classics and then the Imps in Scunny.
- Both wasn't born in Scunthorpe - he was born in Heswall on the Wirral (as was I). Like him, I used to live "near Scunthorpe". But I'm not famous yet.

- John David Gladwin. Multi-instrumentalist and vocals, formed ' minstrels' Amazing Blondel with Terence Wincott & Eddie Baird in 1969-1975. Runs the John Gladwin Guitar School from his home in North Lincolnshire.
- The chuckle Brothers (Children's TV comedians) either live, or did live, in Belton or Epworth (near Scunny) i believe.
- well, here we go. i am the man whose wifes gran did live next door to the house where Kev Keegan and Ray "the cat" Clemence used to lodge. I am talking about 96 Avenue Vivian. Isn't it funny that G*****Y has a Vivian Avenue but has never produced a footie player to match our local heroes....Kev, Ray and my uncle Barry.

- i used to work in the Colosseo restaurant and served Alan Clarke (Ex Leeds adn England player) all the time. i think he must have lived on the outskirts of Scunny somewhere. Also Billy Bremner (ex England Player God rest his soul)used to come in with Alan Clarke.

- My brother-in-law shared a flat with Mike Harding in ashby in the 70s.
