Arts, crafts and such

- Sefton has a number of art galleries. The main one is The Atkinson Art Gallery in Southport. The permanent collection includes works by Sickert,Bratby,Piper,Henry Moore, L.S.Lowry, Carel Weight, Duncan Grant, etc. The gallery is run by Sefton Council's Leisure Services as are other visual arts spaces including Orrell Arts Centre (in Bootle), Netherton Arts Centre in Netherton and the gallery at Southport Arts Centre. Orrell Arts Centre is Bootle's only visual arts centre and has featured exhibitions by artists such as Adrian Henri, Richard Young, Rosemary Morrison, Louise Morgan, Bob Ward, Philip Wroe and many, many others. Both Orrell and Netherton Arts Centres serves as a venue for programmes of arts workshops which are open to the general public to get involved in things such as writing, painting, acting, sewing, weaving, dancing and music making (including recording). The centre at Netherton is also the HQ for Sefton Arts Development, an arm of the council's arts and cultural services section.
- There's a dinky new card shop opened in Waterloo with some really arty stuff
- Crosby Fine Art shop, College Road, Crosby (traditional, but now and again something decent at a reasonable price)
- Oxfam shop, Crosby Village (Third World stuff)
