Cafes and Coffee Shops
- BOHEMIA (licensed),daytime cafe bistro/take away, also open thursday to saturday evenings with different menu, good website showing both.www.eatbohemia.co.uk superb food at reasonable prices and chocolate Brownie to die for.
- Woodstock, Subway, Café Face, the Selly Sausage, all on Bristol Road
- The Selly Sausage is outstanding or you could visit Sue in the Haworth (Chemistry) building.
- The Knife and Fork Cafe! How can youn leave this little beauty out??!! Situated just the other side of the railway bridge up the hill, the knife and fork cafe is the best cafe in Birmingham, FULL STOP!!!! Bill and Jan's greasy establishment is practically what I live for in my spare time. Pre footie fryups have been legendary! And you get value for money as well. For only a couple of quid, you can get the monster of all fryups! Knife and Fork is the way forward. The atmosphere upton entry is electric, the decor is shoddy (as it should be) and the cutlery and tables are dirty (as it should be!) What more can you ask for??!! I've been going for years and I would never be tempted away, not even for a record multi-million quid transfer!!!!
- Mud Cafe, wonderful pasta.
- Littered with cafes, I have two favourites, Mudd cafe on the Bristol Road, and Cafe Face.
- The Face cafe on Bristol Road by the OVT is very good
- The Selly Sausage. Legendary and the only place which gets students out of bed on a sunday morning.
- Phoenix Cafe is nice for coffee and also Persian cuisine. Run by a 'Persian Lady' - very cosmopolitan considering its in Selly!
- Loads. Couldn't list them all. It's just down from the University for pete's sake!
- Mud cafe supposed to be very good serves pasta and stuff. Several sandwhich shops including woodstock baguettes.
