Hookup Spots in Shrewsbury, Shropshire*

Inside Information and Stuff Only Locals Know

You can tell us more about Shrewsbury.

Hookup Spots
  • in the square music skaters and loads of shops
  • Shrewsbury isnt exactly a great place to meet new people and have a lot of fun but everyone meets up in the quarry, and not in copthorne park!
  • Castle Tower.
  • the aptly named "wobbley bridge" or the green pengwern bridge that leads into the quarry by the boathouse, walk accross with other people in-step and it starts to bounce up and down.
  • The Quarry, as usual, is good... as is the graveyard in Belmont 'cos it's all peaceful.
  • notice how no-one has mentioned harlescott yet? it's because no-one has worked out how to steal the internet here yet, but any dimly lit park is a haven for drunk 14 year olds vomiting from drinking all of their cider. also, kynaston road in harlescott is a wonderful place if you are wanting to hook up with drug abusers, wanting to be threatened with a knife, or have your car stolen. it's a nice place, really it is. the people are lovely. there are some very cool people there, but they will try their hardest to get away from the asshole of shrewsbury.
  • YOUTH!!! STFC!!! BLUE ARMY BLUE ARMY!!! BRING ON THE WELSH C***S SWANSEA!!!
  • If your into pipes and stuff pandorous box is oright for you.
  • u neva see ne 1 around the streets of shrewsbury ne more, just a load of skaters, wheres all the mint lads (scallys) gone! if ya want mint lads ya gotta travel 2 wrexham or chester 2 get the mint 1s! every lad from round ere r mummys boys.the best places used 2 be by the shops, sundorne n the grange!
  • Quarry is good when its sunny, otherwise try square
  • only kids hang in copthorne park now... its definitely the quarry although the bench outside virgin is popular with baggy trouser types
  • Shrewsbury's place to be in summer HAS to be "THE ROCK" in the quarry. Its perfect, just over in the derelict side of the park, away from all those footballs and frisby's is a peaceful tranquil calm place to just chill on that sunny afternoon. If your in luck the fit tanned rowers at the boys school will be out! PHwoar!
  • i normally goe and hang out at raven meddows bench with a bottle of cider and wait for any passing talent but they usually ignore me most of the time
  • The local areas of the town all seem to have their spot but the Quarry Park (especially in the summer) and The Square are perennial favourites. Oh and the Square WAS once the market but the new market hall replaced a victorian one on the same spot so the Square has not held the market since the 19th century. the builkding housed the Magistrates Court until 1993ish. the County Court was never there.
  • Yeah, i have to say shrewsbury isnt a good place for us greebos/goths to hang out...however,we are usually to be found up town hanging around outside virgin, waiting for out dealer to turn up
  • The monument by the council buildings.
  • the quarry or pridehill.
  • If you are an evil, angry, hoody wearing, scowling little townie, you can hook up outside virgin megastores with the rest of the wannabe "alternitive" types. Or "Alternitively" you could try opening up to the outside world and bring some love back to skating.
  • Shrewsbury's population is actually nearer 100,000 and unlike Telford is one town and not a group of small towns centred around a play area. There are many good pubs such as the Wheatsheaf and Hole in the Wall which are famous. Some new bars have openened in recent years allowing a more cosmopolitan feel. Shrewsbury is also famed for its street entertainment.
  • The quarry is the real hookup spot where all the local misfits hang out.
  • If your not old enough to go for a drink (which is pretty difficult in this town)join the other local youngsters sitting under the bridge next to the wear where you can drink cider or sniff glue, or alternativley stand outside a favorite supermarket and look threatening.
  • Condover Social-Tommy Corfield is there wasting it up!
  • A note for all the Skaters out there, The Skatepark at Monkmoor is one of the best hang outs on a sunny Saturday - A new street course for the riders and lots of cool types to meet. Watch out for the new bigger Subculture store in Shrewsbury this Summer 2001.
  • Most popular place in Shrewsbury to hook up with ya m8's is probably the Square, then you can visit one of the many coffee bars around it, espaically Costa D'Italia. Very nice place, although a little expensive!
  • Telford is not in Shropshire anymore if some people had done there homework. And anyway Telford was never the biggest town in Shropshire becoz it was made up of Loads of towns including Wellington.Shrewsbury is the biggest town and the capital of Shropshire followed by Oswestry and there was a cyber cafe but now it is closed!
  • The quarry in summer, the entire student poulation of shrewsbury playing frisbee! can spend the whole day there and at the end be safe in the knowledge that youve done absolutedly nothing except have fun! nice!
  • The Quarry or Copthorne Park is where alot of the teenagers hang around. Frankwell carpark as well, grreat...
  • Frankwell car park (after 9.30pm). Loads of people drive their cars down there and meet up. All the tossers hang around Copthorne Park, setting fire to cars etc...
  • if you're bad enough you can hang round estate shops anywhere in shrewsbury - but you'd best be johnny concrete as some pretty rough fellas park up there (yeah, really).
  • Oh yeah, Oswesty is not the second largest town in Shropshire.............SHREWSBURY IS!!! Telford - 160,000 Shrewsbury - 65,000 Oswestry dosnet even come close
  • fun site But the square with the farmer and sheep statue is Festival square in Oswestry. Oswestry second largest town in shropshire.
  • O.K so young hip teenagers need to hang out at 5 belmont!!!!! Shyan is a youth network and there is plenty of stuff to do there. It is also a cyber cafe. If you get bored of 5 belmont there is a graveyard right outside, many young people also hang out here. The Quarry when it is hot is great fun what with the ice-cream and boat rides or Copthorne Park.
  • I think one of your correspondents is a bit confused about the geography of Shrewsbury. The Square is around the old Market hall, not the county court. I think the statue of the farmer is in Oswestry, about 15 miles away. Don't know whether it's called Red Square, though.
  • Not everyone meets in the Square, especially now its a bit cold, somebody opened a Cyber Cafe but I can't remember where.
  • Has to be the Square, underneath the county court - great place to be on new-year's eve as well if you're in the mood.
  • Red Square (Festival Square) marvel at the statue of a farmer and his sheep (!?)
  • Unfortunately the youth of Shrewsbury seem to have a fascination with loitering outside supermarkets.
  • The Quarry, Where you organise who is going into the off-license for beer
