The Best Things
  • 2011 sees the return of Port Skelmorlie's famous Loyalty Day. This event requires all non-Protestants in the village (Innes Park to be specific) to publicly swear an oath of allegiance to the queen. It was stopped in the latter part of the 19th century, but civic leaders have successfully managed its return as an annual fixture, starting on July 10th at the community centre...bring the kids for a fun-filled family day out!
  • The public bar in the Eggy
  • u can walk aboot the village all day and not see a single soul, or person
  • The shop is just fantastic, no matter what you ask for they'll always have it. It should be in the guiness book of records for being the shop which has the most stuff. Try it, think of something really obscure and go in and ask for it and lo and behold they'll have it, but don't try and trick them by asking for something simple like bread or milk.
  • SCHOOL , ITS QUIET , TIDY , MOST OF THE PEOPLE HAHAHAHA, PLAY GROUP FOR KIDS , VANDELISM FREE
  • I just have to say how pleased I am at the level of service at the post office. I have never met a friendlier more pleased faced couple. You just walk in the door and their beaming smiles are the first thing that is noticed.
  • the scenery.....knowing people.....not that far away from glasgow.....and some of the nights out have been the best Ive had anywhere !!! Barley the dog !!!
  • The golfie after a good night of snow... A dive in the resy on a hot summers day(although this is no longer recommended until someone smart enough sticks a bag of cement in the little hole where the stream is disappearing into!)
  • Skelmorlie Railway station is almost as good as Skelmorlie Airport, if you are American then a wide range of Local accomodation can be selected from by visiting http://www.awaybackhameyatintanks.co.uk
  • The quite life
  • The peace, the quiet, the views over the river Clyde from the top of the village
  • THE PHONE BOX AND... THE CHEMIST! HARDLY GOOD
  • The Eglinton Bar
