Favourite Building
  • Anyone remember that auld barn that burnt down behind the shop across fae the Eggie?.....It wissnae me!
  • Thge Eggy.
  • The new old-folks home being built at the cross
  • The labyrinth of tunnels underneath Morlands was a haunt of mine around 1974. discovered by myself and a relative of the Robertsons called Adrian from the West Indies. Is my name still scratched into the leadwork out on the turret roof?
  • My favourite place when i was wee was Tobins the Ironmongers. Its no there noo but it was across the road from Jamie's back gate on Castle Road. I used to go in just for a smell of parrafin.
  • YONDER CARPET PLACE MAKES THE PLACE REEK OF QUALITY
  • THE CARPET PLACE - leave it alone !!!!! The converted church house - thats the nicest house in Skelmorlie
  • The tarzan swing, although obviously not a building, deserves a place as it has been a haunt of kids since the 1950s. Does anyone know how ling the railing has been missing from outside the shop across from the pub? Everyone and their father remembers climbing through the gap as a wean.
  • The big house with the stone carved monkeys on the corners at the end of Montgomerie Road. We used to play in the garden there back in the sixties.
  • I think Park House (the big white house at the cross) is simply delightful,
  • Glendower. Opening hours 10 am to 1 pm when weather is permiting.
  • Morland, even if only because its my home!
  • REDCLIFF
  • Many old, sandstone buildings around.
