The Worst Things in Solihull, West Midlands*
The entirely missable and worth mentioning because of it
You can tell us more about Solihull.
The Worst Things
- snobby locals
- kevs
- The worst thing has to be some of the people, namely The Chavs/Kevins + Sharons/Townies/Whatever you want to call them.
Their choice of clothes shops include MK One and Ocean Drive (girls) or any sports shops (lads).
Key looks for the girls consists of nasty fake Playboy tops and cheap lycra miniskirts. Lads will wear assorted tracksuits in various lurid colours, always with a smattering of fake Burberry. Excessive amounts of (again, fake) gold jewellery is essential for both lads and girls.
Never try to inform them that their choice of clothing is utterly crap as they are firmly convinced that they look great. Or 'blinging'.
Why don't all they just, as they would put it, f*****g do one, star!!!
- There used to be a park in Solihull (I am a native Sheldonian) with a horrible green statue of a boy with a horse. The story I heard was that it was something to do with Bird's Custard. Ever since I have called Monkspath/Tudor Grangers CUSTARDHEADS for having such a horrible monument to be known by. If it has not already been removed do it now!
- The people in central offy
- No butchers...where do i get me meat????
- the skaters
- the skaters
- the traffic is horrendous especially during the rush hour.
- The traffic on the M42 is bad.
Very few corner shops or local pubs.
Unfathomably huge house prices. Solihull is not *that* much better than the surrounding areas.
The people are incredibly racist. It amazes anyone who comes in from outside the West Midlands. I guess it comes from Solihull being 99% white. The people here have never grown up or even associated with people of other races and the ignorance shows.
- Town traffic on Saturdays...
Wish the bus service to/from Brum ran past midnight...
Mell Square is looking a little bit down-at-heel now Touchwood Court's doing the business...
Lack of cycle lanes/bike stands...
- 1)The miserable fountain in Mell Square with hardly any water coming from it.
2)The cheesy statue of man, woman and child.
- The road in, the anal attitude of everyone over 35, the police (absolute bastards)
- House prices, snobs and four-wheel drives.
- THE SNOBS
TOUCHWOOD!!!
- Finding somewhere to park! - even better now that the Civic Hall car park has gone too....(whatever next?)
- Full of posh boring old people. Nothing to do.
- not enough shops
- Becoming more and more busy. I don't understand the attraction of all these charity shops. No butchers shop (this must be unique for a town this size.
- The heart been ripped out of the town to build Mell square. To close to Brum to have a real pesonality.
