• Friendly faces, I find it hard to believe there are 60,000 people in Benfleet cause you always seem to know everyone! Bread and Cheese woods, massive nice place. You can get lost in there, and suprisingly enough if you go in far enough you can't hear the traffic. Once rumoured to have a black panther living in it!

• Good place to laugh at. And if you feel proud of benfleet, Canvey is next door so there IS somewhere worse to look down upon.
• Near everything, London, Southend, Farmland or the town
• The view from the Benfleet stations platform across Benfleet (not canvey side) you can see Appleton school right in the distance and the town looks quite intriguing.
• New trains on Fenchurch street line are a god send (I am a commuter to London) I thorouly approve them. Richmondpark is a nice big park and the olde worlde feel around the 3 pubs near tyhe station is nice - South Benfleet is the best part, I would never live the North of Benfleet
• "Forty acres", behind Robert Drake school, with the pond and the woods and just about everything a kid could wish for ... is there still any green land there? Woods at Bread and Cheese hill, the circular bicycle track (wonderfully dangerous), the families collecting bag loads of chestnuts every autumn. Thundersley Glen. Benfleet Recreation ground. Benfleet rainwater sewers (yes, we used to go on sewer trips for fun -- can't believe people PAY for it in Brighton!).
• The park, Hadleigh Downs (nearby), the Glen. AND, when the Council do a Christmas Baazar and everybody dressed up and my brother (who used to be Manager of Victoria Wine in Benfleet) made mulled wine and the money went to charity!

• Walking in the woods, fresh air and an escape fom all the bad attitudes around some of the worst parts of the town!
• Villa park, friendly people, all my mates live here, good places to eat, not far from anywhere, the rope swing

• South Benfleet is home. Even though I now live in London, I grew up there and it really is a pretty civilised place. People are nice and you're never too far away from anywhere.
• Being near to the seafront.
• Everyone knows everyone, all the pubs are like a sceen from cheers.
• It's definatley true; you don't realise how much you like the place until you're somewhere else. The Midlands are crap. The best things aboutBenfleet are that the Pink Toothbrush is so close and that all my friends live there.
• Women. The SPA. The small playing area in Befleet Park used for the best football in town every Sunday.
• Benfleet can be quiet when you want and lively when you want. The indian restaurants all serve great nosh.
• Very close too Southend United FC (probably the greatest team in the World!)
• Believe me even if Benfleet is small if you know the right people you can have a damn good time. There's some lovely talent and it's close enough to London and also the clubs in Southend to go out for the night. But it is small and not the type of place to get stuck when you're skint.
• Nice location - seaside twenty minutes one way; countryside twenty minutes the other. Also close to the Hadleigh Downs which makes for a nice stroll or cycle.
• It's near London.
