Cringing Cult of Celebrity
- I believe Graham Chinn attended at Culverhouse School for Boys and appeared in a telly advert and a radio play in the early eighties. I often look out for his name to appear on this and that, but I must have missed. Also, I used to go to school with Julie Hawkes, much younger sister of Len "Chip" Hawkes (of the Tremeloes)and father to Chesney. We and the Hawkes lived in Cherwell Grove when it was all Sepia!
- Dr Stephen Coyle Mb Bs Md Lmcc CMO, was a gradruate of culverhouse in 1968 and went on to palmers in grays. He qualified in newcastle upon tyne and is now the Chief of medicine of a hospital in canada. he was agrad,with graham chin.He is an specialist and is well known acroos the world as a expert into the causes and research of asthma. He admits that he was,is,,and wll always be a W--ker! SJC
- Geoff Pike who played for West Ham and won the FA Cup during the 80's lived in Darenth Lane, one of The Rubettes lived in a cul-de-sac off Darenth Lane, Allison Bettles who played Fay Lucas in Grange Hill during the 80's lived in Cherwell Grove and Iron Maiden use to play Ockendon social club before they were known.

- Didn't Graham Chinn, later Director of the English National Theatre or something, go to Lennards in the 60s? I fink I woz at skool at the same time as 'im. And didn't that football geezer in the 1966 England team go there too? Can't remember.....getting old...memory fading.......where's me slippers....

- Gary Bushell lived in Fullerton Crescent for a few yrs during the 80's, I know coz he told me so :)
Fatima Whitbread, went to Culverhouse School (Ockendon School as it is now) and lived the the area for quite some time.
- Phil davis - appeared in alien 3, pleasentville, bounty with mel gibson and many others, used to teach us at st cedds
- I nominate Christine Pittman, who still works for her neighbours through SORA
- I saw MP ex resident the other day. He was a Mod late 70's early 80's.
He was riding a bloody Scooter(still) Black Lambretta, still looking cool....

- Victor Maddern - 1950's/1960's actor - bit part in just about every British film of the era!
- Terry Venables the football manager lived on the belhus estate and he went to the old Lennard School, now the Ockendon School. I know this because we sat together at the same desk.
