• Winston Churchill was never a resident of Woodford Green - he was the MP for Woodford (and I nearly saw him when I was about 4 - my mother said "Look! there is Winston! - pointing to the passing motorcade AND I LOOKED THE WRONG WAY!!!) However, we did have Lonnie Donegan and one of Kenny Ball's jazzmen for a long time. On a more lofty note, Clement Attlee lived here and one or two of the Pankhursts (suffragettes, for those of you who take your liberty for granted and don't realise who you owe it to).
• Adam Woodyatt (better known as Ian Beale in Eastenders) used to live in Malford Grove when he was a kid. Ahmed Omar Sheikh (suspected al-quaeda terrorist currently on death row in pakistan following the murder of american journalist Daniel Pearl during the Afghanistan war, formerly on death row in India until released as part of a trade for the releaase of hostages held in a hijack, old boy of Forest School (local independent school) and understood still to be protesting his innocence) lived down the road in Wanstead. Sylvia Pankhurst (suffragette) lived up the road in Woodford Green. Winston Churchill was the local MP.
• Patsy Palmer lives Woodford Bridge. Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) went to Forest School. Footballers Dean Holdsworth and his twin brother David were brought up in area....think went to Churchfields. Frank Lampard did/does live in area?
• Gary Lucy, of HolyOaks and Footballers' wives fame, went to school in Trinity RC High as did Tamzin Outhwaite. Former Prime Minister Clement Atlee lived in the Monkhams Estate. Boyband East17 Live in S.Woodford, Eastender Paul Nichols does too.
• I think everyone should regard Billy (14) and Dean(15)they (r mates for years and r a rite laugh) as celebrity's coz they r famous in bracknell along with the rest of the holiday crew (they now wot i mean). If ur reading this u 2 email me.
• Winston churchill used to live in woodford green, kinda near south woodford. Most of Headswim live/have lived in woodford... many a time have various members been spotted in the rose and crown behind the grammar school. Jenny oojamyflip who turns the letters over on wheel of fortune went to the grammar school (myth or fact, no-one knows), and the comedian called Alan with curley hair who does the ads for that bank went to bancroft private school down the road for a short while. Sean Macguire is a regular down the castle pub. Tony Mortimer moved from walthamstow to a big pink house in woodford. The script writers of goodness gracious me (comedy program) went to forest private school, and one of them lived in woodford. Teddy sheringham lived in woodford for a while, and sent his son to woodford green prep school.

• The drummer out of Status Quo. Some bloke who used to play for Chelsea lives down my road.
