• For the record the CA Bar remains open! Both the young and old use the facilities and profits from the Bar support local Charitable and Non-profit making groups.
• been said before, but you've got swans a few miles down the road that plays punk,metal,indie type stuff on wednesdays.well worth a trip. the lodge get some top covers bands in on fridays too.

• the nearest weekly punk/emo/metal/indie night is in Wickford @ Swans
• Where has eveyone been?? Tiger Joes is now the one and only Jds, its smaller now but alot less dicks drink in there, although there are still some legend fights that kick off at closing time, always a good place to go if you single and after and easy lay (thet applies to guys and gals!!)
• Thankyou Jeff Dolbear and crew for getting rid of that dreadful commercial/local disaster known as Tiger Joes. They're getting rid of the chav element as well which is a good thing.

• A message from the new owners of The Oakland Hotel: Tiger Joes is no more!! We have totally refurnished the old bar. One part is a 4-star restaurant, the other is a modern sports and music bar called 'jaydeez'. Friday and Saturday night we have a live DJ playing until 1am and Thursdays we're open til 12am with either live singers or karaoke. We have employed new door staff (the same company who run clubs in Chelmsford) so they are professional and very nice and they are there to stop underage drininkg, drugs, and voilence. • Nope, got to go to chelmsford if you can afford the £22 cab ride home, don't bother with basildon clubs unless you like hospital food.

• Tigers has got much better recently, at least on the Friday Nights. They used to play way way too much garage there but I think they've got a new DJ who's playing much more decent music. I've stayed till the end three weeks running.

• The bowls club is simply banging. And there's definitely no risk of young-looking people there!
• Tigers! £5.00 to get in (£7.00 on Saturday theme nights) Expensive drinks, lousy music, rude bar staff - even ruder bouncers! As far as I'm concerned it should be closed down with immediate effect - or at least get rid of Pat & Sam from running it! I'd rather pay the taxi fare to/from Chelmsford and have a guaranteed good evening out!

• Tiger Joes (aka-The Oaklands Hotel) ABSOLUTE S**THOLE. It takes the piss. Fair enough it is the only place in woodham that has a late licence but they are NOT a club.No matter how much u think u r. To get in there you have to pay 600p.To put your coat in you pay another 150p.Drinks are club prices at 320p for a smirnoff ice takeoff. The Dj is crap, expect to hear a bit of reach for the stars..... & Britney is always a favourite. Loads of little girlies in there who get pi**ed and start fights with the people who r legal to drink. Only recommended if your a fan of the spice girls. Please either someone take it over or close it down.

• The only decent thing about Tiger Joe's is that it open's late (more drinking) I also love some of the singers on thursday nights, check out Egg and Clive - WE LOVE YOU JOHN TINKER!

• Tiger joes is shite, and bloody expensive too.Avoid Fridays especially as the music is crap as well. Spend your hard earned cash somewhere that deserves it.

• Tiger Joes is OK if you are under 21 and and like listening to crappy music - what about the 'older generation' who have grown up in SWF !! Town Crier is OK if you are 15 and are into drugs.
• Christmas under 16's disco on the 21st december 1999 should be good even if u don't normaly go you have to because it is christmas !!!
• There are occasional Under 16 discos in the William De Ferrers Centre.
• well not really a club but neally every friday night all the local teens from the age of 11- 16 gather in the dame e for a D.I.S.C.O
