- Wednesdays at the Oakland during the Britpop-era was legendary. A 10 year reunion wouldn't go a miss. You do see bands at The TownCrier, Railway, and at Woodhamstock in the community centre. Good to see the support of local bands there.
- bring back hippy and magic at the oakland....forget all this "sports bar" rubbish. they currently DJ in exile in wickford apparently.
- jaydeez is a modern sports and music bar on the Oakland Hotel complex. Friday and Saturday night we have a live DJ playing until 1am and Thursdays we're open til 12am with either live singers or karaoke. So if you like live entertainment you'll love Thursday night's at jaydeez! We have employed new door staff (the same company who run clubs in Chelmsford) so they are professional and very nice and they are there to stop underage drininkg, drugs, and voilence.
