- My great grandfather was the unluckiest merchant seaman in Southampton. Some 92 years ago, he got shipwrecked in the mid-Atlantic. Then got picked up by the Titanic!
I can't believe how dumb some people are about the ship's history. She was built at the Harland and Woolf shipyard in Belfast but registered in Liverpool which was her first port of call to pick up crew, cargo provisions etc. She then sailed down to Southampton which was her home port - the rest is well known. Just go and watch the movie (spoiler - the ship sinks at the end!!)

- Singer-songwriter Helena Costas who goes under the stage name Elenni went to uni here.
Aqualung, drummer out of Kosheen, bloke out of EastEnders, etc.
- Ade Edmonson is probably the most respected, or Benny Hill. The guy who plays Lou Carpenter in neighbours was born here too. Woo.
- Craig David, the boy from Holy Rood done good, coz it's a crappy estate in the finest traditions of post-war Labour housing appeasement, he did well to get out.
Mike Osman, comedian and Capital Radio DJ, the rug wearing side splitter comes from Millbrook as I do,where you either fight or take the p*ss to survive.
I've got a broken nose, Ozzy hasn't..

- Whoever it was that said that the Titanic was from Belfast is also a dumb ass. It was built in Liverpool but had Southampton as its home port (since this is where the 'White Star line' were based)
