• Scott Mills of Radio 1 fame went to Crestwood Community School in Eastleigh, captain of Titanic used to live in Winn Road, James Zabiela (superstar DJ)used to live here.

• My great grandfather was the unluckiest merchant seaman in Southampton. Some 92 years ago, he got shipwrecked in the mid-Atlantic. Then got picked up by the Titanic! I can't believe how dumb some people are about the ship's history. She was built at the Harland and Woolf shipyard in Belfast but registered in Liverpool which was her first port of call to pick up crew, cargo provisions etc. She then sailed down to Southampton which was her home port - the rest is well known. Just go and watch the movie (spoiler - the ship sinks at the end!!)

• Ade Edmonson is probably the most respected, or Benny Hill. The guy who plays Lou Carpenter in neighbours was born here too. Woo.

Francis Benali is the notorious defender with Southampton FC who is from here as well.
