Cinemas
- Harbour Lights!! Classic films, beautiful location, not full of pikeys!
- odeon.. and cineworld (ocean village) also there is harbour lights..
- odeon, one in ocean village. odeons just ur average odeon. pretty good though
- Odeon at Leisure World - rubbish. Has about 20 screens but they are small and rubbish. Rubbsih.
- Horbour Lights or UCG/Virgin/Whatever it is. The bar in harbour lights is lush with the fishtank that looks like the building. Good for slightly less mainstream films be it foreign films with subtitles of low budget british films, odd horroe etc. Its all a bit more chilled out down that end of town, you don't get caught in someone elses fight. If I'm off to the cinema I'm not looking for mad drunkeness so Ocean village is perfect. Aug 05
- Odeon is alrite, latest films i spose
- Ocean Village cinema complex is cheaper than the the multiplex at LeisureWorld in the West Quay and aslo has an arthouse cinema called "Harbour Lights"
- Harbour Lights. Obviously.
- Odeon in Leisure World, if you don't mind being compared to blonde shoulder length skirted boppers whilst out with your man. Harbour Lights is much better, and you get to momentarily live in the illusion that you're a bit arty.
- The Harbour Lights is a firm favourate of mine they show a lot of varied movies there, just pick one at ramdom and enjoy.
- Odeon Leisure World is good enough for all the big releases, and you can usually get in as a student if you've got some kind of card, for more obscure/arty/wierd films, the Harbour Lights in Ocean Village is V. good.
- Harbour Lights for art films, the Odeon for deals on chocolate raisons. mmm. oh and they have about 100 screens
- Odeon in Leisure World and the UGC in Ocean Village will show the most recent releases. Look out for the showings at the Harbour Lights cinema in Ocean Village - occasionally shows recent releases but mostly shows classic films and very good foreign subtitled films.
- Harbour Lights is still open and the best cinema in the south, just go to anything and it will be better than the BIG GRAY BOX
- Harbour Lights Picture House shows off beat stuff and also reruns big hits - good for catching up.
- Leisure World, Harbour Lights, Odeon...theres tonnes, but the harbour Lights is cheapest and shows the worlds most wonderfully random films.
- Harbour Lights- it may be a bit of a trek down to Ocean Village where this cinema (and the UGC) is located but its well worth it to be able to buy a drink at the bar and then sit and enjoy it on the little terrace they have overlooking the harbour, plus a different selection of films. Also look out for their Late Night Celluloid night for which you get a re-run of previously released film (eg. Donnie Darko, Adaptation, Raiders of the Lost Ark) and a free (tiny) tub of Ben'n'Jerrys ice cream.
The UGC is the cheapest for students at £3.80 whichever day or time.
- Apparently Winchester is good for Cinema! Otherwise I guess West Quay is most convenient!
- Leisure World again or Ocean Village for new releases. Harbour Lights at Ocean Village for all those into their genres/european pervy stuff.
- Harbour Lights is heaven
- Our cinema's amazing because it's huge. But it's gone a little shit because the craphead townies have taken over. Stupid goth haters.
- UGC in Ocean Village
Odeon in Leisure World (you can laugh at all the clubbers)
- Harbour Lights has NOT closed down. It is very much a live and offering the best cinema in the area, UGC coming in second.
- We travel in to Southampton from Bournemouth to visit the Odeon rather that go to our local cinema's.
The sound system is great the seats are comfy you can almost always get a ticket and they let you in for free if you are a carer. (although you do have to take the caree along for this to count)
- OH THE 13 SCREENER IN LEASURE WORD IS A BIT HARD TO BEAT AND THOSE LIKE NEON SLUSH PUPPIE TYPE THINGS ARE LUSH EXCEPT THEY GIVE U BAD BRAIN FREEZE
- Leisure World has a lot of good cinemas. If you're not incredably insecure and dont like constantly having to look at people just for the reassurance that they aren't staring at you, go here - you'll appreciate the screens and the sound quality (and the nachos)
- JOINERS
- Odeon at leisure world is ok, but I'd much perfer a Warner Bros. cinema
- Odeon at Leisure World is pretty cool and it's very easy to sneak from one film to another, the one at Ocean Village is absolutely rubbish. Harbour Lights is sometimes good for porn films etc..
- big cinema just down from west quay called leisure world offering you luxury seats
- Theres the new lesiure world, It has a pretty big cinema, some pubs, resteraunts, laser quest amusments and its about a 5 minute walk from the Twon center a bit pricey but not bad!
- West Quay development with 13 screens is well worth seeing especially since Jumpin Jaks is in the same the building
- habour lights shows classics and arty films
- Leisure World has the best cinema, but it's a damn nightmare to get in and out 'cos of the bad design with the car park. Park opposite in the West Quay "mall" complete (where Staples, Halfords and TGI's are) if you want any chance of getting out later
- Harbour Lights was very nice. Virgin is a rip-off and Leisure world was pure 100% evil. Townie heaven.
- Leisureworld is the entrance to hell.
Harbour lights isn't bad.
- Dont go to leisure world - it use to be ok now it SUCKS!
- leisure world(connected to Ikon and Diva) good but not different to every other cinema complex in the country
- Leisure World is pretty cool, 13 screens, good nachos.
- There is something called leisure world in Southampton, it is full of townees, so it sucks. There is a virgin cinema and one called harbour lights, all the cinemas are lame. We got superbowl, laser quest, cystal maze, quasar, mor townee shite.
- Harbour Lights Cinema that was has now transmogrified into Harbour Lights Picture House, the subtle difference being that it's now run by City Screen, independent operators with smaller cinemas all over the country. It's no more expensive than the biggies, but it does have a great bar and view, and the programme includes some films that aren't in english. the Feb/March 2000 programme includes Being John Malcovich, Magnolia, and American Beauty, as well as LA without a Map, Dr. Strangelove and Europa, Europa. I like it because you don't have to wade through popcorn to get to the screens or the bar.
- Harbour Lights "artsy" cinema has now closed down.
- Superbowl has Laser Quest, Bowling and Crystal Maze Virgin Cinema at Ocean Village isn't bad... there's about 5 screens I think and it's not too pricey The country's biggest Odeon is at LeisureWorld in Southampton, there's 13 screens there along with several clubs and bars At Ocean Village there's another posh cinema which normally shows "artsy" films; it's called Harbour Lights and I think it's quite pricey but I've never been there.
- Harbour Lights Cine,a is small but the only plavce to see non-mainstream films...v.good prices esp. for students
- Leisure World (again!) also has a 12 screen Odean cinema multplex (the largest Odean multiplex in Europe) Glow in the Dark bowling and loads of great places to eat and drink. Also Virgin Cinema multiplex in Ocean Village which is good vlaue. Harbour Lights in Ocean Village shows weird, abstract and arty films.
