|
- not alot
- Limit Skates. Shake It. The Alex.
- the pier costs 50p. heaven. all the roads are like a grid, so easy to get around. the lovely view across to kent... ahem
- The weather, the estuary views, most of the people
- The Clock, Priory Park, Pier Hill (until us lot at the clock got banned cos someone broke a window), the fact that you can't go out without seeing someone you know.
- sunshine, seaside, sand, jungle, SOUTHEND UNITED SUFC
- The best night I've had out in ages in Southend is the comedy club at Seymours. Lee Hurst, (that bloke from They Think Its All Over) is hostin it at the mo and its great. I'll be down there on the 26th, so should everyone else.....GET IN!!!!!
- Churchill Gardens was good, now it's a little boring, theres a funny rope swing though to watch people fall from. Also try Priory Park and jump the river gap, make sure someone falls in though otherwise it isn't worth doing it...
Goto where Never Never Land used to be and buy some nuts, squirrels there are super tame.
- gotta be the seafront wit da buff rudeboys, arcades and rides!
- in life are free
- There are none, it's a dump from one end to the other. Just nuke it all from space!
- ALL SOUTHEND IS FULL OF LIL DIRTY SLAPPERS WHO NEED 2 GET A FUCKIN LIFE, TALKIN ABOUT RUDEBOYZ N HOW DEY JAM ON D BENCH,,,, IF U WANA SEE RUDEBOYZ U GOTA CUM 2 SOUTH EAST LONDON BERMONDSEY WHERE ITS FULL OF PROPER RUDEBOYZ NOT UR LIL DICKHEADZ IN SOUFEND, WE ACTUALLY JAM IN RUN DOWN FACTORYS AND PUMPHOUSES WITH DECKS AND THE MUSIC IS PUMPIN GARAGE 24 7 AND THE FACTORYS R FULL OF RUSEBOIZ N RUDEGYALS WHO START FIGHTS WIV D ODD LIL SLAPPER DATS NOT FROM D ENDZ N YES I AM ONE OF DEM RUDEGYALS N YES SOUFEND IS A SHIT HOLE HAHAHAHA BLOOP BLOOP
- Pizza Man, Dirty girls
- Nobby`s the bakers corner of Sutton road and Coleman street, the best Eccles cakes ive ever had, shame ya dont get a frendly smile from the staff tho!!!
- New Rock Boots - great for smashing your opponents in the face, aand if they have spikes you can always lodge them where a rudeboy's bollox 'should' be, however due to genetic experiments most rudeboy's dont have bollox.
- Having lived in Southend for 19 years and being forced to move to Suffolk I would like to point out that Southend/Essex has the best drivers in the world. You would not believe the idiots on the road out here in Suffolk. Roundabout rules are ignored, they change lanes without warning (my red dot essex brakes have saved my life, i kid you not) and if there are roads that cars don't frequent, drivers don't bother checking for traffic and pull out! They are idiots here, and don't get me started on the customer service (diabolical. I'd fire them all) Southend has far more shops, places of interest than you lot think. Appreciate it while you can, because now i'm gone I certainly miss it.
- Staying at home
- Al's late night snacks at a local top hotel "The Erlsmere" and good Stella on draught!!
- That there are a lot of open minded people in Southend and that there is a gay pub and that there are a lot of cool down to earth people that hang out in there. After all, everyone is human and as long as everyone is happy...who cares!!!
- RAGE - the best club night in essex no question
- you have to go to clarence bar in the main high street, its pretty cool any thankfully most of the scummers of southend do not go there. Bellinis is ok in leigh on sea but most people in there are stuck up and you could catch a suntan from the abundant sun bed king and queens in there - the uv rays are flying all around
- That digital billboard stuck to the Plaza which is now gone
- my knickers
- Being near the sea
- If you want the best natural & organic skincare products don't go to Bodyshop in the High Street. There's a new place called Beauty Warehouse in Leigh, Broadway. They do loads of stuff there, and the guy who serves in there is so friendly!
- RAGE night...the best metal in essex
- The smell of onions frying from the burger stalls as you walk down pier hill.
- skate spots
- the cinema the library and there sheer volume of pubs and clubs. there are some really good shops tucked away in places.
- Summer evening down on the beach. Cold winter mornings along the Front.
- Watching some rude grin at you like a mug and thinking 'what a loser.'
- Cruisin' in my cowhide rover.
Odeon Southend.
New A13 to Chelmsford
2-tree island.
Pure-Carma.
stawberry flavour Ribena
- The slags!
- SOUHTEND IS FANTASTIC
- parks, beach, town on a saturday and its home....if youve leaved here as long as I have...been away and craved to come back....not sure what the attraction is but I can always think of places that I like more than hate.
- RUDE BOYS
- The best things about southend is the beaches i would reccomend east beach in shoeburyness as it has lovely sand and also has a field where you can play a game of rounders or football and have a nice family picnic.
Another great thing about southend is the arcades the big arcade place is called the kursaal it has a place to bowl a pub and lots of fruit machines to blow your money on. Dont forget the famous dance machine which all the teenagers cant get enough of.
A great place to spend the day is peter pans playground also known as adventure island which is a theme park full of different kind of rides just dont forget to bring a change of clothes cause you do get quite wet on the water rides.
- seafront in westcliff/leigh.
- "rudeboyZ"
- Southend United, can't think of much else.
- fags 'n' mags, essex provs, oh yeah, virgin, mc.donalds, burgering (can u guess i hang about down town?) all the ppl who dnt judge ya and like u for being u and have a laugh with ya m8s.
- SUFC ! Argos , Woolies hmm ok im struggling....
- Ummmmmm can i think about that one some more??? xx Loobie
- the back streets
- nite clubs that play good music the pink toothbrush rayleigh is the bollocks
- THe Micro-climate and the sunsets over the grimy London sky.
- It's one of the better provicial towns in England (but that ain't saying much)
- The best thing is I am now living in Timaru!
- ice cream, candy floss n the helter skelter
- COCO CUBA!!
- X-ISLE X-ISLE X-ISLE
THE ALEX
- Its SOuthend!
- fights, drunkards, the tramp in woolworths, subway
- The bench outside BT Cellnet
- Its near to London, so I can escape this shithole to the bright lights in next to no time.
- The best things are everything, I used to live there but for some strange and unknown reason I moved to Scotland, its true what they say about ou dont know what you've got till its gone, I would love to move back to Southend, the atmosphere is excellent, everyones up for a laugh, plenty of pubs, clubs and interesting people. Some of you out there were giving the bikers with their long hair, piercings, tattoos and leathers a right slateing, I would like to say, did you ever actually talk to them? I used to work in Jenny's restaurant on the seafront when I was 13-15 and they used to come in big groups and they were the nicest people I ever served in there! I also had a tattoo and a piercing done in a place on the seafront and the people who done them(guys covered in tattoos and piercings and looking quite scary) were so friendly and the place was clean and hygenic I wouldnt have it done anywhere else!
- The best thing about Southend is its remoteness. It means I can never be bothered to go there.
- laughing at the baby goffs that inhabit the now defunct doomcookie bench
- its home!
- Watching people play in the Thames estuary right next to the sewage pipes.
- Sitting on the beach at 2am in the middle of summer. Alone (or maybe not!!)
- TOTS, the crap football team, and last but not least the essex girl.
- Lots of skaters, seafront is fun at night, lots of clubs and pubs.
- I don't live there anymore!
Southend pier is entered in the guiness book of records, and all you Tory,Hague loving arse holes should spend some brass and get the pier back as it was, with arcades on the end,and while youre at it make it safe for the fishermen(if any one is allowed up there still), Don't let this institution rust and fall away by the wayside, the pier is Southend, spend money on it and you will reap the rewards later.
- Saks underground - A New Breed, Smoke, The Blue Meenie and any reggae dances that go on there.
Bakers Bar can be good...
Jah Shaka and ABA-SHANTI-I, who comes down every so often, not so much recently though. Im sure we're all missing them greatly...#
I would say sunrooms, but I've grown up to relise how pretentious and scummy the place is!..and the beer isnt all that either! - Chesca
- All of it especially the pier and Thorpe Bay Southend air show is popular
- Southend has a reputation which is undeserved. at the same time this reputation saves it from the fate of twee Brighton, Up the Republic of South Essex!
- the cliffs in summer, priory park, the air show, the pink toothbrush, the arcades, westcliff beach
- Drink and the fact that no matter where I go I see someone I know!
- The variety of pubs.
- The best place is Route 66, excellent pool club. Music, television and the staff are mostly female and friendly. I have to say this as the manager bought me a couple of drinks for my birthday over the weekend. No seriously, real good venue.
- knowing that there are alot of cool people out there who don't think Ben Sherman and white Reebock classics are a good fashion statement however they're hard to come by if you're not a Saks regular
- Walking down the High Street and knowing everyone
- THE SHARON - For obvious rea sons
- The way you can walk down the High Street at 2oclock in the morning and get off with almost any bloke coz they are all so desperate and you are too drunk to care!!
- The girls.
- Sun, women and the choice of pubs
- Southend is the best thing
- The Roots rock reggae scene People have forgotten that the 70's was 20 years ago and play stomping heavy reggae at local dances- check flyers & posters. The town has two reggae record shops (more than some mall cities): Bassment Nr Sun Rooms & Black Art (York Rd Mkt) Oh yeah, the local lads mostly fancy themselves as sound boys, so don't expect to find anything other than vinyl! Mark f
- Great Wakering-A great, peaceful villiage with lots of decent pubs all close together, and you can get hammered and know if you knock someones pint over they wont knock you out.
- relaxed drinking atmosphere (only narrow ninded losers feel unsafe in southend)
- Bieng close enough to London to escape it. Being able to forbid your children to live there when they're older. Not being as bad as Canvy Island The largest free air show in Europe every May bank holiday The very strong scouting movement
- Getting on a train at Chalkwell station, which is right on the sea-front, on a summer morning when the tide is in and the sun glints of the water. The best start to a commute to London.
- Er..... Almost everything.e.g. fights, action, dodgy deals (no comment)
- Southend really isn't that bad when you take a look at Basildon and Canvey Island!! If people don't like it then move!! We've got TOTS - yes I am in support for it, no I don't work there and i'm not mad. It just happens to be a laugh when your with your mates!!
- Leaving, and then coming back.
