Musical Instrument Shops and DJ Gear
- I don't know how out of date this is now, but PMT is awesome, the staff has changed so much over the last 6 years and they know there stuff. They're repair work is great too. There's a young chap who's wiring is sweet and their set ups are on the dot aswel !
They aren't always the cheapest, but they match prices and will give you the best service in the country. Anything goes wrong and they will sort it don't worry about that ! Plus their stock range is by far the greatest in England.
Shane
- Alegro, PMT for drums
- PMT Queens Road
- Gumbi's music exchange in York Road Indoor Market, Southend.
- allegro
- PMT
- I loved PMT when I went in there looking for a new keyboard (or just wanting to play with the Roland RD-700SX). The guy in there was fine about it and let me hook it up to one of their amps and use my sustain pedal to test it out. The guy advised us on some speakers and the price of the keyboard was one of the cheapest that I've seen and for that (and their helpful advice) we're going to get our gear from there now the insurance claim is through finally. Been without a keyboard for 2 months now after our lightning strike. Good game!
- PMT Queens Road - Know their stuff
- PMT is over priced and full of really up their own arse salesmen. lots of stuff though.. i bought a shit hot recorder in allegro music though. The Music King by Chalkwell Park, the guy is blind but knows if you rob him....he can smell it and will set his dog on you... You can also get those lolly whistle things from most sweet shops
- DAVES HAS NUFF SAMPLES INNIT
- PMT its on a backroad of southend high street huge selction or everything!
- honky tonk ruled but unfortunatly its closed Nooooooo! oh well PMT now thats not bad at all.
- the best music shop wud b the allegro music in chelmsford...4GET the one on london road...that sucks.....2 pricey and if ya only wanna have a look they chivvy u out like ur wastin their time....assholes
- Alegro's, Honky Tonk, PMT, ermm I dont realy go to any others.
- PMT is there for your instrument needs, but not for advice. Allegro has been done up but is quite small, you get good help in there though. Honky tonk is good for a quick look around and they have the best amp range. The one down hamlet court road is for little kids(5-7) who have jst stopped using the plastic guitars they got from argos.
- allegro music! jus rocks got everyfing u want n guitar sections great
- by far the best 2 music shops are honky tonk and pmt(proffesional music technology ) but honky tonk no wot they are talkin about (trust me theyre expensive but get the best intstrunments)
- MONKEY BUSINESS
- i know of PMT in queens rd
- There's a cool second hand place just past Chalkwell park, towards Leigh, on the London road. It's good for random percussion and freaky old vinyl to sample. PMT has a good range but some of the staff know jack yet insist that they're right. I would never trust them with repairs as I've seen them mess that up too.
- Why get ripped off locally? Pay £11 and get a train + london travelcard. Jump off at Tottenham Ct Road tube station, walk backwards from there (away from TCR) and you have a whole bunch of dirt cheap music shops.
- theres one down southchurch road looks quite kool
- honkey tonk
- u want honky tonk, its where u walk into town from southchurch road, its got everything u need, and oh yeah is just up from it, selling all your bong needs.
- PMT and Honkey Tonk in Southend. Allegro music in Westcliff, but that's a bit crappy.
- PMT is cool, a bit intimidating (I got my bass from there, I'll give 'em 7/10)
Honkey Tonk is ok for the budget end of the market (they wouldnt buy my Ibanez JS100 because it was too upmarket?!!!)... and umm.. thats it.
- allegro
- that one down soutchchurch road...
- erm, there is a big one if u carry on down the HMV road. if u reeeeeeeeeeeally wanna go there
- Honky Tonk is a great place to go for your musical stuff! Got LOADS of stuff there!
- PMT nr hmv!!!
- Oh like you have to ask .. ok Honkey Tonks . IS there another one ?
- P.M.T in Southend is a must! You can go up in there and smash around on practice kits and no matter how crap u are, they still love it!
Its a wicked place, and if u buy a lot of stuff, they knock money off if u ask!
I love P.M.T and it makes Honky Tonk look like a bag of poop!
- PMT (Yes, PMT) in Southchurch road. Don't try out Stairway to Heaven on a Les Paul. You'll get glassed. By me.
- Personally i would go to PMT coz they have shitloads of stuff in there but the people who work in there are utter assholes they just look at you as though you are crap and are not helpful at all. PMT guys hope you read this!
- Oh YEAH
- PMT not only does it have the best name for a shop it is big wonderful place full of guitars and horny staff who work there.
- PMT. Honky Tonk
- The one next to oh yeah is a good one
- don't go to pmt because its shit
- the best by far is pmt a wide selection of instruments and the top floor is devoted to drums!
- Honky Tonk, PMT
- None worthy of any reconmendation! The only other ones have proberly been broken into by some scrots.
- go to allegro or honkey tonk witch is near oh yeah and warrior square
- Honky Tonk Rules
Down with Professional Music Technology
Music King (if you can call that flea pit a music shop)
Allegro (need to remorgage your house to shop in there)
- Honkey-Tonk is the a very big shop for this kinda stuff. Also opposite it there is cash converters which as seeond hand stuff but is actually pretty good too.
- P.M.T say they're the best in town but with a name like that? Please, its just asking for trouble. Oh, and the blokes who work there, apart from the guy in the drum section upstairs, they're all full of s**t and don't actually know what they are talking about. Still, HonkyTonk isn't much better....
- Erm....not really my thing, but PMS down queens road?
- PMT (Proffesional Music Technology) further along the "HMV" road. Sell everything! Guitars floor to ceiling, Synths, everything!
- PMT (professional music technology as opposed to Pre-Menstrual Tension)
is good
- PMT it's huuuuge and you can muck around with the guitars in a seperate sound proof room
- PMT (proffessional Music technology is you weren't sure), massive. The bloke in there is a bit cockey though. He made someone cry last time I was in there (!)
- Professional Music Technology is by far the best, especially now its at its knew location (near HMV). There wide range of instruments, especially guitars are complemented by extremely helpful staff. Don't by any sought of music anywhere else !
- PMT is good the blokes in there are cool and helpful Honky Tonk is full of drop out students who sneer at you the whole time
- honky tonk , behind argos
