You can tell us more about Southport.

Cinemas
  • vue near skate park next to pier, ocean plaza
  • Vue on the front, which is by the way finished now, not a building site.
  • vue is gud but they dont let u in under age:(
  • vue cinema at ocen plaza
  • VUE is decent
  • cinemas need to re think what they are doing dvds at home rule no sitting in an air conditioned freezing building getting kicked in the back by some lad trying to snog his bird
  • cinema is pretty big and always smells of popcorn. yum yum. its not actually a bad place to be either
  • bring the old cinema back!
  • Vue cinema is miles better than the ones in liverpool
  • Vue cinema - Has very comfy chairs, loads of screenings but costs quite a bit and is the only Cinema after the ABC cinema got closed down.
  • The last real Cinema, The Classic, was shut down to make way for a series of widescreen TV's in an aircraft hangar, known pretentiously as 'Ocean Plaza', featuring an atmosphere as inauthentic as it's name. This apparently is a 'multiplex', not a type of fit bought on by flickering lights but a place where a wide selection of films you don't want to see are shown in small rooms on small screens to small minded people full who eat junk food loudly. Give it a miss.
  • Go to fact in Liverpool its great, big couches and beer.
  • the new cinema on ocean plaza = boss
  • The new ocean plaza thingie is pretty boss
  • SBC Cinema... the best around and its local :)
  • IN SOUTHPORT THERE IS A LARGE NEW CINEMA COMPLEX AND BOWLING HALL THE DEVELOPERS DID NOT ABONDENED THE PROJECT ITS CALLED OCEAN PLAZA WITH SHOPS AND CAFES.
  • The multiplex cinema off Marine Drive is very good- the new parking fees near JJB Sports are a bit confusing though.
  • that is it you mother fuckers! LEAVE MY BELOVED TOWN ALONE!!!!!!!! anyhooo, there is now a 7 SCREEN cinema, so shut the fuck up! mother fucker. i am sick of u titty poos callings us snobs when it is just because u are so freaking common you can't tell we are normal! now i am off to the band stand to skateboard, get drunk and pilled up.
  • 7screens beeatch!!!!
  • SBC on ocean plaza.
  • the new cinema is ok
  • every since the flee-pit closed we have a nice new multiscreen complex.
  • big one in the ocean plaza
  • the new one
  • Big new Cinema built by the beach in the new ocean view retail park and by pleasureland fair - the rest of the new development looks like it will be the next White Elephant in Southport, once again it's a case of "well done" to Sefton MBC for penny pinching and having no vision. Whats the point in adding a retail park to a town that is stacked high with shops that no-one wants to open, so now they are all charity shops. Well Done!!
  • The new SBC cinema is aight. The old ABC one was fecking shite.
  • SBC is nice and has nice seats
  • The ABC on Lord Street is ancient, scruffy and smells a bit funny. It's a landmark though and it will be a shame when, inevitably, the new multiplex they're building on the seafront opens and immediately puts it out of business. It'll no doubt become yet another poseurs bar.
  • worst cinema in britain concidering we used to have 6 of the very best
  • The ABC in town is crap - full of kiddies who throw things at you and stick sweets to chairs. I go to Preston UCI.
  • Cinema? what cinima? oh yea that one but does it realy class as one? allways empte dirty n COLD!
  • One and it is shit, my tv at home has better sound and picture quality
  • If your idea of a good night out is sitting in a room roughly the size of a shoe box that stinks of piss, in chairs that are covered in chewing gum, to see a movie everyone else saw three months ago-Then come to Southport cinema. If not then FOR THE LOVE OF GOD GO SOMEWERE ELSE!(infact just go anywere as long as it's as far away from that place as is humanly possible
  • There's one. It smells of damp and never shows anything worth watching. Plans existed to build a cinema/entertainment complex but the developers of the site had the foresight to realise that someone, somewhere had made a really, really bad decision. Needless to say, they aborted their plans.
  • Not so long ago, Southport had 10 movie-theatres -- the highest per-capita number of cinemas in any town Britain. They were: GRAND -- (built 1939) Lord Street at Union Street PALLADIUM -- Lord Street north of the War memorial TROCADERO -- Lord Street south of the War Memorial COLISEUM -- Neville Street at Stanley Street PALACE -- now the town's only surving cinema, Lord Street at Eastbank Street FORUM -- built 1910, Lord Street, near Prince Of Wales Hotel SCALA -- Kingsway at Lord Street REGAL -- (built 1939) Lord Street, between Portland Street and Duke Street TIVOLI -- Blowick area REGENT -- Blowick area
  • just the 1 ABC cinema (building another soon)
  • Only one cinema (A new multi-screem is going to be built
  • Just one cinema -- The Palace on Lord Street and Eastbank Street. Pretty crummy really!
