Favourite Building in Southport, Merseyside*
Art deco, contemporary, futuristic, tall, short...
You can tell us more about Southport.
Favourite Building
- Prince of Wales Hotel, the Round House (more or less opposite to Alan Hansen's house), the curve of shops in Birkdale village
- Funland, great place, cheap food at the back jus run by sum robbin bitch that nicked my fiver the scum bag, plus she wore too much fake tan and smelt a bit funny
- the memorial theres a three set there
- Not so much a building but i love the new bridge near Ocean Plaza. If i had to say a building id say the Promenade apartments, because the interior is incredible and the people there are filthy rich.
- Ocean Plaza in general, the cinema especially cos its a multi-screen cinema
- the monument its a huge victorian errection
- cinema
- The old abc cinema
- Lidl is quite good to laugh at the smackheads and foreighners.
- Southport Art Centre. Get a look at it fast before the Sefton Council morons damage the exterior as badly as the interior. The Theatre bar has to be seen to be believed as an almost heroic example of how you can destroy a thriving social facility and disperse the community who made it so, simply by applying a policy of neglect and stunningly poor aesthetic 'refurbishment' to what was once the most vibrant centre of the town.
- Old Promenade Hospital now luxurious overpriced apartments for rich footballers...
- The paki shop a couple of doors dwn from kfc basically because if your over 16 you get the knockback and if your under you get served I am a sandgrounder but i would like to agree on all the old fu*kers around here.
- broadbents and boothys for make up and perfume and designer bags
kfc for yummy food
the scaisbrick for maloneys cocktails
- Probably the arts centre
- HSBC (formerly the Cunard Building) on Lord Street- lovely Corinthian columns and a bright atrium. Shame about the carpet though!!
- Silcock's Amusements.Down Nevil St Where all of Southports Hardknocks go.
- portland wines
- Old ABC Cinema
- my house. its full of lunnies
- station because it is the way out
- the safeway blocks building
- Southport College
- all the fabulous big, solid Victorian houses - fantastic!
- The Outdoor Swimming pool (Oh no, sorry, Sefton Council have demolished it). Birkdale Town Hall (Oh no, sorry, Sefton Council have demolished it). The old railway station (Oops, demolished). The art-deco Moulin Rouge in Ainsdale (You know the score by now...) Better not mention the Arts Centre building or no doubt it won't be there next week.
- southport crem the bin for the old fossil,s that drive micra,s
- The old bank. Now a pub.
- Ocean Plaza ruin, it sure makes a micky out of the council!
- The Old Bank
- my house its nice n warm oh yea n bliss! oh n the fire stations a good one to have around i guess.
- Waverlys Bar, the architecture is splendid if viewed from the inside with a few pints
- Not applicable. Southport has Victorian Architecture, not maitained since the erstwhile queen vic was on the throne, occupied by scouse-hating sandgrounders whose attitudes wouldn't have shamed Victorian society. Luckily pleasant architecture abounds just 20 miles down the coast.
- I was wrong. There is ONE good building in the town - that new College on the KGV site - the "Millenium Centre"? It must've been designed by a scouser feeling sorry for the locals. Was it Ellis Williams Associates (of Liverpool) I believe!
- The station. It's the quickest way out of this hell-hole.
- casablanca, lookz cool.
- The Bold Arms
- Brasserie Bonheur, formerly a banking house, is beautiful. Outstandng decor.
- No doubt about it, the old hospital
- The Arts Center: The place to be if you like the theatre
- The YMCA, is great for playing Basketball on a Sunday night.
