The place to go for a lazy afternoon, pub quiz or last call
You can tell us more about Southport.
Pubs
- The Foghorn
- the Bold hotel
- Waverleys attracts the youngest crowd around if you know what i mean, Sugar just of West Street is definitely the oldest crowd on that road followed a close second by Springbok Trekkers, which has an incredible DJ on Tuesdays and Thursdays Mike Doyle who pumps out funky house tunes till 5am on these nights
- The Bold Arms, Churchtown :- Don't bother going if you value customer service - this pub doesn't. We used to visit regularly, but one week the chef had decided to finish early so the barman refused to take our order despite agreeing that he should still be able to. The manager was 'unavailable' to speak to us and the chef refused to, so we left. I wrote to the manager Mr Peat for his comments. After three weeks he still hasn't bothered to reply.
- Gotta go to maloneys, guarenteed entertainment and wicked night out
- churchtown is good for the more mature malonies is good for flaring and fresh faced people with really loud music if your 30 feel old i do when ive been in there me aunty likes malonies and me bro has stayed at the brick the fox and goose was good when they had the bands on and olearys has a good atmosphere for the mature adult crowd new pub opening opposite fox and hopefully nevill street area will get busy with more adult crowd
- lloyds/wetherspoons is the best, yates, the richmond
- fox and goose.
- the corrination atracts a fresh faced crowd for pool etc. most pubs are old man pubs, we go to bars
- A fair handful of Pubs in Southport. Not many of the restaurant type but the traditional style but with no traditional blokes.
- The Bold, but if you're a man united fan get down to the Mount.
- If you want to get stabbed on a Friday or Saturday night by a stranger for no particular reason, look no further than the town centre pubs. If you'd like to enjoy a quite drink with friends, go further North or South. The Park in Birkdale is one good bet.
- The Falstaff, good cheap food.
- all the ale houses in town r sh*t
the worst r the albert the volly and the ousthouse full of ale head tramps
(you know who u are)
- The Fox and Goose - it used to rock, the rock nights have gone but some of the rockers are still there.
- Fox n Goose
- Pubs are crap.... jus' full of drunk old men and cig smoke....
- Try The George on the corner of Duke Street and Cemetery Road- it's under new very friendly management.
- mostly glass and plastic crap with lousy ale. Upsteps good ale but full of dum sangrounders
- THE CORONATION BABY!!!! you cna get this wicked drink that comes in a bottle that is shaped like sperm - its called the x-plode or summin, is tres tres yummy
- is there fuck.
- too many!
- the pageant is my local. much better since they tore out the american gimmick decor. the people in there are ok too.
- no real decent ones
- ASDA!!!!
- The Guest house is the only really unspoilt pub in the centre of town, although the bar in the Bold Hotel is OK and they do fantastic food. Worth a trip out to Churchtown to visit the Hesketh and the Bold Arms, two historic pubs with good beer (and good food in the Hesketh) in a lovely village setting. Otherwise it's all chain pubs, theme pubs and poncey, trendy bars with the odd real dive of a scruffy boozer thrown in for good measure.
- Pubs are full of men with small genitals who think they are hard.
- The Rabbit Pub. This pub just scares me. Enough said.
- voulanteer go see Christine and her regulars on any night but sunday some tremendous singers just grab the mike. A real treat is Fletch playing his bar stool bagpipes
- Quid Pro Quo is now THE OLD BANK ( with a totally unrelated projection of MTV on the wall inside!!)
- Again Waverlys is the only place to be seen, The best themed bar in Southport, Firdays, Sundays and Mondays are the best nights in there
- Not pub. Sandhus' Off license,Nevill street. An important part of Southports' multicultural and alcohol consumption heritage.
- G SPOT on West Street, Superb pub/club 80's Upstairs !! Hard House Downstairs with ALAN and PAUL ! Open FRI ans SAT till 2am
- Carlton
- O'Neills is pretty good cos you can play jenga there with big blocks!
- Dull. Most nights you're almost guaranteed to walk in to a never ending, endlessly tedious quiz night.
- around
- ronnie's, off houghton st, is a gorge, tucked away spot, which plays mtv thru the day, and karaoke amongst other things at night. Brilliant ajoined restaurant, but bar has the best atmosphere
- Grandstand , The Crown , The Sands , The Bold Arms , The Park
- Maloney's has cocktails, but steer clear of poseurs in The Glasshouse (it's pretty crap anyway).
- Lakeside Inn and The Guest House are the pretty best pubs. No discussion about that. And The Crown, at Coronation Row is really good too. I hate that crap places like Coronation or Maloneys
- O' Niels...what more can I say (The quintessential Irish theme pub) The Bold Hotel (Lord St)...it's..?...well it has 'Hurleys' on tap !
- Maloney's in the Scarisbrick is OK, but go to Liverpool, Bootle for more life. The Guest House gets some pretty good guest ales, I can't remember the name of the road. Also Wetherspoons have just opened a pub on Lord Street, it costs from 89p per pint depending on what you get, Theakston's Best is 99p.
- Carlton Flava - voted one of the best 30 bars in Britain recently and does the claim proud. Top atmosphere, wicked DJs and it would not look out of place in London its that good Glasshouse - ram jam full at weekends but good dance music venue nonetheless Quid Pro Quo - smart dress bar. V.posh Bar Non - see Q.P.Q
