Arts, crafts and such
- aspex gallery. brougham street.....off green road off elmgrove
- take a walk along albert road southsea.many shops of all kinds/second hand shops.record shops etc.a treaure trove!
- The Circle arts gallery now appears to have closed. Unsurprising really due to its rather out-of-the-way location, but a shame nonetheless. Another example of Southsea's boom and bust arts scene...
- Just an update - Circles has now unfortunately closed. So far as I know, there are now no galleries in Southsea.
- Passion Fish - Albert Road. Handmade funky crafts - great for pressies
- Arista, lots of new age
- There's a superb gallery just opened up recently on Castle Road (just off Elm Grove) called Circles. They have a group of artists in residence there (the LAVA Collective) who do some weird and wonderful stuff (some of its actually been banned by the local council for being too controversial!). They also sell craft stuff. Most of what you possibly want it in there - long overdue, if you ask me.
- Loads of 'em. Albert Road again. No real galleries, unless the Portsmouth Museum
counts. The picture gallery is mostly local urban landscape stuff and not great
although there are some great artefacts and displays about the town.
