The Stuff We Can't Fit In Somewhere Else
- Southwold Library has young eccentric manager with loads of good ideas for kids' activities, storytimes, booksales; helps beginners find what they want on the internet.
- Adnams ale: brewed in the town and still delivered by horse and cart.
The annual (Easter Sunday) pram 'race': basically a drunken pub crawl through the streets of Southwold and a drunken 100 metre sprint at the end. Prams are usually vividly decorated, even with pop culture and contraversial images!
- Go crab fishing with string and bacon. Famous for appearing in Peter Greenaway's "Drowning By Numbers" and some Monty Python sketches. Appears in PD James "Children of Men" and Bruce Thomas (ex Elvis Costello bass player)'s "The Big Wheel"
- What a lovely village. So nice to go somewhere where nothing really happens! Cool brass band too if your lucky enough to see it! Beware of the smell of the brewery at certain times of the year though!
- If accomodation in Southwold is a problem we found a great pub in the nearby town of Wangford called the Angel Inn.
