The Best Things in St Andrews, Fife*

If you're around, be sure to check these things out

You can tell us more about St Andrews.

The Best Things
  • Greggs the bakers, got a nice golf course too.
  • Tommy o' Boogie, Bob Dylan on acid "He was born here so you can all fuck off" quote/unquote
  • The golf courses, beaches, cathedral, university buildings, coastal walks
  • for a small town St Andrews boasts god knows how many pubs. Theres something for everyone:
  • Golf courses, Beaches, Peir, Buildings, The parades
  • Three beaches, loads of history and strange traditions. More pubs per square mile than any other University town in the UK (or something like that)! Bonkers gift shop is excellent (won best independent gift retailer of the year award).
  • The nearby RAF, we are made up of English too and we keep the town solvent!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • Oxbridge rejects rarely bother to find out that, despite being called a city, it`s a town (chortle). "Let`s all go to Guy`s New Town flat in Edinburgh every weekend". "Oh,yah yah."
  • St Andrews has a really fabulous beach and is a very quite town to study. Everything is nearby for students.
  • Friendliness, cold-but-clear weather, beautiful beaches
  • THE LAMMAS MARKET coming soon on 10/11&13/14/08/01 try out THE BOMBER AND ASK 4 TRAV. i will see all the working men in THE CROSS KEYS sunday 12/08/01 get ready girls
  • You can kick the shit out of all the students for 9 months of the year!
  • The Locals
  • Old town/city centre is very attractive and has a surprising amount of shops. The weather is generally surprisingly good. The beach and the West Sands are a great walk. The people are friendly and there is very little agro.
  • The Mine and countermine. tunnel under the castle - worth a wee visit. Visitors go down at their own risk, but if it's been there for several hundred years and still hasn't caved in then i reckon it's worth taking that risk. dug by invaders ages ago - countermine dug to prevent them from getting through to attack.
  • THE ROAD OUT OF IT
  • St Andrews is small, but well populated (mainly by students and avid golfers). To my knowledge the last count of golf courses rested at five (not bad for one town) including the famous Old Course.
  • The cheap pubs none of this £2:05 a pint rubbish as in Edinburgh or Glasgow. The beaches, how many other unis have beach parties at every available opportunity complete with mobile disco.
