Cinemas
- The ABC Cinema where the Squash Club is now on North Road, I remember queing up and paying about sixpence, we used to all stand up at the beginning and sing "we are the boys and girls well known as minors of the ABC we like to laugh and have a sing song such a happy crowd are we" dear God we would be stoned now if that happened every time we went the pictures..........but they were such happy times.
- CINEWORLD IS TOO LOUD!!!! FOR ME PERSONALLY
- A great big ugly pink cinema on a road where you can't get to, and over-priced popcorn. This cinema is the ugliest cinema in the world.
- showcase on the lancs avoid this place its always freezing, the sound is absolutly crap this was noticed by one member of staff and nothing waqs done left half way through, and this was are second visit the first wasnt much beter
- GOOD CINEMA TO DAMM EXPENSIVE CHEAPER RENTING FROM BLOCKBUSTER AND GETTING A TAKEAWAY
- thank god we have our cinema back
- cineworld next to Yates on chalon way west
- Cineworld, Unlimited card for £11 approx a month and watch any movie anytime as many times as you want
- love cineworld more than my mum .................i have got a pass it is cool
- cinieworld. great with orange wednesdays or cheaper on tues.
- Cineworlds quite nice actually. everythings overpriced though, and often chewy on seats
- cineworld in town i go there because it's close it isn't bad there the prices aren't dear either its easier than goin to warrington! theres a pizza hut on one side and chiago rock and yates on the other so if the films crap you can just go to one of them!
- Cineworld's alright. As everybody says, it's pricey for food and ice cream but there aren't many places you can go out for a night with the missus and only spend £20. They're not that strict about sneaking the odd thing in - the trick is to buy something from the concessions stand anyway, just something cheap. It's much better than Showcase on the lancs but I'd still rather go to the Trafford Centre or Robin Park.
- Cineworld is a decent enough cinema for the area it serves. Shows all the latest ones but it's a little steep if u dont have NUS.
- theres cineworld and its ok i guess... the toilets are clean. we go there when someone needs to go and just use their toilets. tehn we go back out..
- i think cineworld is fab, but very pricey for food dont you think?
- Cineworld, Not soo good, they leave the main lights on during the film and haven't managed to wire up the surround sound yet.
- Oh what a cinema in Bridge street goofy at the door, boy did he take his job seriously, rocky 4 was the best day
- cineworld
- the new cinema in town is great - me and my mate watched a girl going down on a lad in the back row
- The cinema is shit. It only shows action movies and teenage crap.
- GOT CHUKED OUT 4 EATIN PIZZA MORBID BASTARDS xkt
- Never buy food in the cinema. About two years back I bought a bag and they charged me about £3.00
- TOO COLD NEED TO TURN THE AIR CONDITIONING OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Never been since they shut the old place down in town
- Woolton picture house in liverpool, you can still smoke in there!
- ONLY 1 IN TOWN A MULTIPLEX,TRY ELSEWHERE
- Bargain tuesday at ciniworld, you may even hear the back row posse "OTHER FILMS U MAY ENJOY!"
- cineworld mingin pink colour but clean inside n never jam packed, ur almpst always guaranteed a seat! warrington's still got a better 1
- It's great but smuggle your own food and drink in. It's expensive to buy stuff there.
- god the old savoy
- Dont go watch movies download them off the net cos the the studios make loads of dosh and the cinemas pay peanuts to thier staff.
- we've got a cinema at last!
- The Cineworld is pretty damned good.
- cineworld - a tad better than the savoy!!!! god what was that about at all.
- The old A.B.C. for having that bald guy who used to kick off at you for smokin in the bogs
- the gate in chain lane has afternoon horse-racing showings seven days a week.
- Cineworld is one of the best things to happen to ST.Helens!
- Cineworld is nice.
- We've got one!!! At LAST!! It's only been 8 years since they shut down the last one then realised it was actually a viable business concern (unfortunately it was a real flea pit and needed a major revamp inside). So they knocked it down and built some big fleshy pink blob near the College Library next door to Chic Rock and some other Bar not worth going in. It's actually quite nice inside, which is a rarity.
- cineworld is class!!!!!!!!!
- Remember BALDY and the trampy woman who worked at the old cinema?! And no matter what film you were watching it was the law to throw at least 4 maltesers at the screen!!
- Cinema, could have looked a lot nice instead of the heap of s**t they built
- Hey, we finally got one back again, and quite a nice one it is too - now what ARE they building where the old one used to be?
- Cineworld...Moving pictures have come to snt ellins once more Hurrah!!(sneak your own snacks in in a plakky bag, theirs are too dear)
- now we've got our own cinema frig westbrook !get to pizza hut for all u can eat buffet ! all thats missing is a roller rink ha !
- Cineworld is alright, the best thing that has ever happened in this town, esp with chicago rock next door.
- Don't bother. Fully of little townie tarts and knobheads. Drive to Wigan or Switch Island if you want to watch a film without listening to dozy bints on their mobiles or tossers getting lobbed out for setting fire to the seats.
- cineworlds is gr8 n cheap on tues they do £3 deals.
but the baskin n robbins is twice as expensiv as newer else!
- cineworld is a great cinema and it is in the st helens town area. it is great place to go on a weekend if ur bored and it aint that exspensive either. i recommend it to n e one.
- Sunday nights at the pictures see a film be served by that woman who always wore lots of make-up(in particular black eyeshadow!) then leg it across the road to the market for last orders
- BRILLIANT!!!! Nice things have happened there!! Try the marshmellow n choc Baskin Robbins Ice cream --- its soooo nice!!!
- Our local cinema is a great meeting place for all the family ,Saturday morning all the children meet up to see there favourite films at a fraction of original cost ,entrance is only one pound ,so this gives the kids the chance to socialize with there friends without breaking the bank.
- Great on a Tuesday becuz it is half price!
- IT IS COLD IN THERE, BRING A DUFFEL COAT AS THE AIR CONDITIONING IS ALWAYS ON FULL.
- i wonder if theyll give chewbacca her job back when the new one opens, god she was scary
- St Helens only has one Cinema - Cineworld. Make sure you get down there on Tuesdays every film is £3 all day and night!
- gud
- THERES A NEW CINEMA WHICH IS BRILL
- THE CINEMA IN WIGAN IS THE CHEAPEST AND BEST CHEAPER THEN ST.HELENS EVEN THO ST.HELENS CINEMA IS VERY GOOD!ITZ ONLY 3.50 PER PERSON TO GET IN A WIGAN GO AND FIND OUT TODAY!!!
- its about feckin time we got a pictures :) nothin special though... and why do they charge so much?? apart from a tuesday when it costs £3 CJ
- Cine-world...hooray after a childhood of no cinema in town..we finally get one when i dont wanna go anymore
- Films suck,(the one that used to be virgin)
- we just got a new one, but it has shite films on!
- The old pictures - the night the excorsist ran backwards - lol!
- Get on with it! Build that cinema quicker!
- non as yet but the new one will open soon. i wonder if the man in drag will still be selling the tickets.
- anyone remember that woman who sold the tickets in town, she looked like a scary drag queen with that make up,and that lurch bloke who collected the tickets it's no wonder it closed down everybody was too scared to go in
- Run by Neil Kinnok and Drag queen ticket woman untill it sadly closed 10 or so yrs back
- the savoy only shut cos no bugger attended.when it shut thre was ruptions
curry cuoriers see ad in star
- still building look at the shitty web cam!!! when it opens it will only shut down and turn into a super market
- What a waste of space St Helens council is!. Since the ABC/CANNON closed on Bridge st about 10-15 years or so ago they have not thought it prudent to get planning permission to build a new one. If you havn't got a car and you want to take the kids to see toy story 2 .. then your buggered. Honestly they couldn't arrange a piss up in a brewery , from what I've heard they have had loads of enquiries from large company's like UCI and VIRGIN to build a much needed multiplex but for years they tied the building of a new cinema with the renovation of the old one!. This put allot of would be investors of as the old one is sadly fit for only two things 1, demolition or 2, A pigeon sanctuary as I used to work across from it and could see them flying around inside, the shit must be 3 feet thick in there now.( But at last option 1 is underway as they demolish the whole block to build a night club.)
- Well there by hangs a tail. Cinemas. They are finally building one on the college car park but at the moment you are best with Virgin in Wigan or, if Scousers don't bother you, Showcase on the East Lancs on the way into Liverpool. Bowling is closing down at the end of January 2000.
- I remember the days when St Helens had 3 cinemas. Now you have to go miles to see a film. No wonder people just rent videos instead.
