- Cafe Nero, god you name it they've got it. What a dump. Everywhere you go in St Helens you find a stupid stainless-steel bar with laminate flooring that stinks of coffee and urine.

- Does anyone remember that cafe in the old Tontine Market,BHS is there now,it used to sell Wagon Wheels on the counter for 10p and tea and coffee for 25p a cup that tasted like piss? You could also smoke in there without anyone telling you to 'fuck off with that fag'.

- We dont have any what you can call a cafe, they are all greasy dumps with cheap instant brown 'coffee'
- I never rated Pimletts Pies, living now in heathen Stoke on Trent, coult teach Lancastrians (Sorry Neo Scousers- well its really is your own fault, putting up with it) a thing or two about food. They have a Wrights Steak Pie, A thing to die for, Oatcakes with Bacon and Cheese for Breakfast, and at least they still have a decent local brewery.
Mind you they cant do a decent chip butty.

- GO TO TINAS CAFE SITUATED IN SHAW STREET STATION HERE YOU CAN GET A FULL ENGLISH BREAKFAST WITH COFFEE FOR TWO POUNDS ,THEY ALSO DO DINNERS AND SANDWICHES TO GO.THERE IS A FRIENDLY ATMOSPHERE AND SHE MAKES EVERYONE WELCOME ,ITS CLEAN BUT DONT EXPECT THE RITZ ,BUT YOU ARE GUARANTEED A WARM WELCOME AND ALL HER CUSTOMERS RETURN TIME AND TIME AGAIN.

- Best of the lot was "The Caff" on Duke street/Crab street. In 1985-87 they did the best chip barms in the land...BAR NONE!!! A woman called Doreen used to make them. If she was off though, the owner Ian made them. Ahhh, I can see it now....Me and my mate Gaz poppin' 10p coins in the "Double Dragon" machine as if they were going out of fashion, while Tarzan boy, Madonna's Holiday etc were being played on the juke box. Brilliant.

- Small kiosk window outside St Helens college do the best coffee ever promise.
- C.T.'s Bistro near the college, coffee is 80p and there's free refills!
- Asda coffee shop is fantastic! 65p for a cappacino! and the foods cheap too.
- loads of Coffee Shops, I like the Patisserie near Marks and Spencer
- Pat's Place in Fingerpost makes a mean breakfast.
