Arts, crafts and such
- THE TATE! Full of trendy modern art.... yawn!. There's loads of galleries all over this town cos everyone here is an artist dahling. Penlee House in Penzance is much better for those wanting to see traditional art.
- gj beads...tis cool
- St. Ives' saving grace. Makes a person proud to admit they come from what now looks like an otherwise cultureless mass. Hepworth, Lanyon, Goldsworthy, Wallis, Leach, Gabo. An amazing heritage for such a small space. And apparently the St. Ives Museum has the world's smallest dog preserved there or something. God, you live in a place all your life, you never realise...
- The Plumbline Gallery, opposite the Barbara Hepworth museum, represents some extraordinary new artists. The jewellery is fantasic.
The Belgrave and Wills Lane galleries have serious investment paintings.
- theres the TATE art gallery and loads of little craft an gift shops which sell some cute stuff..theres a few shops sellin paintings 2
- For beautiful contemporary art go to New Millenium Gallery in Street an Pol. The best abstract work.
- There are too many art gallerys in St.Ives to mension But the most obveious one would have to be the TATE
- More art than you can shake a paintbrush at. Hard to say where to start, though the Tate's a predictable choice. (And none the worse for that.) Contemplate the view out across the inside balcony on the first floor and across the beach as well as the building (and the contents of course).
- St Ives Tate, (nuff said). If you don't like art, just have a coffee on the balcony and enjoy the view.
