Hi, I am not sure if I have been pinpointed to the right place but i am trying to find some info on my stepfather's mother, her name was/is Greta Edmondson born about March 1909, we think in the Barow-in-furness area of Cumbria/Lancashire, she married a Harold Whittall and they had two children, a boy & a girl, the boy is my stepfather also called Harold, well Greta & Harold divorced when m y stepfather was 4 years old, he & his sister was brought up by their father Harold and an aunt, and they never saw or heard from their mother Greta again, my stepfather is in his 70's now and obviously realises that his mother may no longer be around, but he really would like to try to fill in some of the empty gaps, he wants to know what become of her over the years, she may even have married again, he thinks that she may have moved to the London area, possibly had more children, if anybody can help to fill in some of the missing years of Greta Edomdson for her son, it would be wonderful. Hi to all, I am happy to see that, after quite a long time looking desperatly for a page that deals on St Bees, I have finally got round to finding one! Well, this is my story. I am writing a book on St Bees, especially concering its school as it was the place my father was brought up in and I would like to gift him with a piece of his past written by me...I know...sounds awful;) The problem I have is that I live far away (Spain actually) and to go over to St Bees to have a look at it for myself is quite impossible for the moment. Therefore, I would be so very grateful if any of you could 'be my eyes' for an instant and provide me with some information on St Bees; anything really, I don't mind...hmmm...for instance, where are the places most boys hang around, life within the school...all you can think of Thank you very much! ... more >> Reply
