Cheap Food in St. Peter Port, Channel Islands*

Corner eateries, quick bites and the local chippy

You can tell us more about St. Peter Port.

Cheap Food
  • I am a resident of Guernsey, and there is NOT a Burger King here on the island. I wish there was!
  • Ah - depends what you mean by cheap. Pretty much all the food over here is decent and in the tennerfest it's all cheap!
  • the red onion is good for food and its cheep
  • The Creperie is at the top of Smith street if you like gallets you can get a cheese or ham (thats numbers 1 or 2) for about £3.40. Cheap as chips!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • vladis
  • Milinos Italian Restaurant. Le Fregate for the rich.
  • Mings chinese up St Martins, Chinese Palace Too, Crispy Duck Mallard, Peninsula, Houmet Tavern
  • The Curry restaurant on the Pollet is fantastic....try the mackrel, exceptional....and this rave comes from a UK curry head
  • Stay away from Cobo chippy if you fear for your health.
  • Best restaurants include La Fregate, Saltwater, Da Nello's, Simply Ireland, The Auberge and La Nautique
  • Cant beat the Ribshack, best ribs on the rock.
  • Love to eat - just don't like cooking
  • take aways are very bad and all owned by the same guy. its disgusting and some food is mouldy (seriously) - AVOID
  • Not bad but poor service
  • Forest Stores, le Bourg, Forest. Cheerful, family run place, with low prices and a clientele that all know each other. Often used as a meeting place. Friendly staff who know each customer off by heart.
  • Loads of restaurants of varying types - including a Burger King now aswell!!
  • Wetherspoons, St Peter Port - pint and a meal for less then a fiver
  • Valentino's Mexican Restaurant. You don't need to go anywhere else!
  • Burger King in town. Heaven take away salads and Bagettes, Red Onion
  • Victor Hugo's at the St Pierre Park Hotel, has the best cuisine, and service you are likely to find throughout the Islands
  • Top Buzz, Hotel Fontenbleu, St Peter Port. With
No. 10 in Ann Place a close second.
    • In my opinion, the best two restaurants in town are Partners and Dix Neuf. Partners has everything from pancakes to burgers and pizza. Dix Neuf is like a French cafe that sells anything from its menu at any time of the day, croissants and cakes are popular but they also have specials and hot meals too. These are both places in town. A couple of other mentionable out of town restaurants are the 'Houge Du Pommier' and 'The Idlerocks'.
    • And here's something from one of them: "Dix-Neuf Commercial Arcade St Peter Port, Guernsey's only true Brasserie, has been included in the 'Egon Ronay' Tobasco guide for 1996. To compliment our continental style of cooking, we also offer live blues and jazz on a regular basis. Don't forget there are other Dix-Neuf venues in Exeter and Torquay."
    • Valentinos pizzeria in the centre of St Peter Port by the Crown pier. Ask for Justine & say Rick in Molesey sent you - she'll love you forever.
    • Partners now closed and replaced with Christies, just as good but dearer also simlply Ireland
    • Restaurants of every variety. Speciality locally caught seafood, but also many nationalities catered for. French, Italian, Mexican, Chinese, Thai, Irish, Indian etc. Not too many fast food outlets though - a Big Mac/KFC/Burger King free-zone!
