• the white hart is good for live bands there has been some good ones of late
• vale earth is the best music gig ever.....! hockey club is pants , and i wuddnt say much 4 the "maximum security"... greenman MCC rock!!
• The cock and bull, open mic tues, irish thursdays,
• The Hockey Club, Chandlers, The Bowl, Vazon Bay Hotel
• DV* has closed so the best places are probably The DogHouse, Pieces, and Blind O'Reilly's
• the doghouse for covers, the cock & bull for cosy nights (acoustic on tues, irish on thursday)
• The Dog House, Blind O'Reilly's, Wicked Wolf. These all have live bands including local and UK ones. The Dog House are staging Pop Idol Guernsey this year, really good fun although prices of drinks are quite exorbitant.
• big bands occaisionally at beau sejour (leisure center) local bands appear at: chandlers, fermain tavern, pieces bar, the bankers draught bands do also appear at a place called 'the doghouse' however, this tends to live up to its name! although some good/ok acts appear, most of the time he acts are awful. ALWAYS SEEMS TO BE SOME FAT BLOKE PLAYIN GUITAR WEARIN HAWAIIAN SHIRTS!!!! basically this is a bar to get pissed in while there happens to be a band playin. not recommended for musicians/music lovers/cool people.

• If we're talking concerts, then St James' Hall it is. The Guernsey Orchestra regularly play here and it is usually fully booked. Be aware, however, that it is a showy affair and that it is rare to see younger people here. There are a number of local bands who play gigs and things, see these at local secondary schools etc and places like Beau Sejour will sometimes do special one night only gigs with local DJ's and local bands.
• The Monkey is one of the worst Clubs on the planet.
• Just about every year Guernsey has a huge all weekend music party held in the Vale castle for anyone that feels like a right good head banging.
• In the summer: Vale Castle on the North side of St Sampsons harbour. Live local, Jersey & English bands entertain the whole day & part of the night - until the police stop the fun! All for a good cause a just a few quid - excellant value & a great day out.
