Pubs
  • OK - now we're on to my subject. Lots of out of date stuff here - it's 2007 now. The Cornerstone is still probably the best pub on the island. The White Hart is now the White Hart again. Cordeliers just out of town is a well kept secret, doesn't look much from the outside but inside it's nice. The Doghouse just down the road has regular live music. in town - Albion, Ship and Crown, Red Onion, Admiral de Saumarez, Moores, Claddagh(although my recollection is a little hazy)De La Rue etc etc - too many to list but all good.
  • saliere is a nice pub good starting point if u going round town
  • THE GOLDEN LION!!!! BEST PUB IN GUERNSEY!
  • TOAST Bar, I my opinion, formerly known as Baloo's bar is the most happening bar in town, live D.J. (occasional percussion) and table dancing! BEWARE though... No Bitter on tap!
  • drunken duck.lots of irish to be found in here good craic.
  • The Red Lion!
  • My home from home(s) are Thomas De La Rue, Bankers Draft, Antica Roma. Thats for average person. And La Cru, Riva, Dix Deuf, for the posh. Just walk through town on a saturday night you'll decide from the outside.
  • Red Onion, Admiral's, Laska's,
  • the cock and bull in hautville, near victor hugo's house. just away from the kev perimeter, that can govern town on a weekend night. don't tell too many people though! it's not that big!
  • Real ale pub, Cock and Bull at the top of Cornet Street The only original pub left in Guernsey is 'The Swan' in St Julians Avenue, good pub grub at lunch time.
  • Cock and Bull, real ale, live music and pool table. Bliss.
  • I went to the golden lion yesterday so i don't think it has been knocked down!
  • The Cock & Bull - the best pub in the world. The Golden Monkey - avoid if you enjoy having two ears and four limbs Bam Bou - Only if you are Nathan Barley Bankers Draught - Much as you would expect a pub called The Bankers Draught to be Thomas De La Rue - avoid at weekends, great the rest of the week
  • De La Rue, Red Onion, Moorings (Jugs of alcohol and mixer for £10), Antica Roma (Cocktails), Laska (if you have enough money), Albion
  • to many boring people live in Leamington
  • The Cock & Bull. Friendly, cheap, watering hole. Great atmosphere, friendly crowd, bar staff very understanding about matters such as hiding under the snooker table and sliding down bannisters.
  • The Deerhound. Nice food, good pub. Very 'countryfied'.
  • Coalhole has been closed for a couple of years for refurb. Golden Lion has now reopened but is definately not the same as years gone by. Still good though!
  • Lot of out of date guff on here (its 2002 folks). Golden Lion open again, Harbour Lights now like all the UK chains, Coal Hole gone, Pony only fit for kids (I do mean young children, it has special room for them).
  • Imperial Torteval. Best local pub ever.
  • Bankers Draught (formally know as the White Hart) Albion, Nix, Red onion
  • The Bankers Draught...formerly the White Hart is brilliant. Live shows most weeks by some of Guernsey's top bands and for the lads and ladettes sports coverage on wide screen tv on Saturdays. A nice night out. Of course Guernsey's town being so small, is one big excuse for a pub crawl. Go to places like The De La Rue, Moores, The Appartment, The Ship and Crown before heading off to Antica Roma for a pre-club cocktail.
  • Blind O'Reilley's The Bridge, St Sampsons
  • White Hart, Le Pollet
  • The Cosy Corner, The Quay
  • The Coal Hole, Smith Street
  • Le Fleur du Jardin, Castel
  • I enjoyed the Golden Lion a few years ago - it was featured in a full page colour photo in Islands magazine. I also like the Hampshire Lodge near Cobo and the Pony in St. Sampsons near The Bridge.
  • The pub named the Golden Lion that is lauded elsewhere on this page has unfortunately been knocked down as part of a central town development plan. Try the Harbour Lights in St Peter Port for a taste of a real locals pub.
  • Loads of good pubs Blind O'Riellys down the bridge is good
