The Stuff We Can't Fit In Somewhere Else
- I think you'll find it was a Gable Hall science teacher, Mr Randal, who had previously done lights for Hawkwind, that actually lived in Abbotts Drive.
- If memory serves the addition to the sign actually said "The Final Episode"
Which was a reference to a local band in the early '80s in a kinda punk/goth style.
- if you are thinking of moving to stanford DON'T especially if you dont like indian coz u'll stave!! and also be careful of the people here coz we are better than you!! COME ON YOU STANFROD LOT!!
- Arry eats mods was martin arrowsmith didnt like mods back in 1979 but he has got himself a nice allotment plot next to Satchs round back of Conrad Road
- I HATE S-L-H
- Demolish Stanford
- The hope committee does a good job
- The sign outside Stanford actually read "Sometime Town". A track off of a local groups record, I believe called Essence.
Phil Jupitus lives in Stanford, down the end of Scratton Road.
- if you are thinking of living here then think very carefully and go somewhere else.
- The spray painting under the stanford flyover that reads 'arry eats mods'...who was 'arry? And what was his problem?
- i loved the sign that says ''WELCOME TO STANFORD-LE-HOPE'' and the comment underneath it that read ''THE FINAL CHAPTER'' i feel that said it all
although that was scrubbed clean a few years ago
- there are over 40 radio hams in the area, plus 30 odd cb'ers + 5 illegal cb'ers
theres always a fair type thing every bank holiday over the shell rec
the local birds are very h****sorry very nice to look at
- What's Phil Jupitus from Never mind buzzcocks fame, doing at Stanford station?
(apart from getting a ticket mr clever!)
- if you are under 18, don't drink in corringham park because it's right near the pig station.
- There used to be a road sign just outside the town, it read "Stanford Le Hope Nowhere Town", I like Stanford, its cool in its own way, but that kind of sums it up.
