- Most of the people here are related to each other, so it's very confusing if you've just moved in and said something to one kid and had someone who you thought was completely nutral in the matter come up and ask why you said that to their little cousin.
- LETS MAKE 2001 A GOOD YEAR FOR STEEPLE CLAYDON - LETS MAKE ALL THE BAD THINGS FROM 2000 BE GOOD AND STOP THE MOANING AND COMPLAINING - THE BITCHING AND THE RUMOURS - AND LETS BECOME A COMMUNITY - A "REAL" COMMUNITY - AND CARE ABOUT OTHERS!!

- O.Weingart Roofing Contractors.
Established in 1965, it is one of Steeple Claydons most thriving business.

The village is also home to a number of construction companies, established by locals for local clients.
- There are numerous activities and clubs in Steeple Claydon covering most sports such as football, tennis, swimming, along with traditional indoor 'sports' like darts cards etc. There are at least two Societies in Steeple Claydon, one, The Steeple Claydon Village Society was formed to attempt to bring under control the attempts by AVDC to expand the village envelope beyond all recognition. Born from this Society was The Steeple Claydon Local History Society, created by some like minded folk who were unable to locate any real material from Steeple Claydons past. The Society has been running for about 3 years and will have its own website later this year. For those that are interested in Village history watch this space as when the web domain name has been registered it will be posted to this site. Every one will be welcome to come along to any of the open meetings (held in the Pheonix public house) where good beer is available to help the proceedings move along. There is usually a guest speaker, sometims a quiz, and tea or coffee should you require it. Always friendly and interesting. Topics vary from local people talking about past times in the village to the history of the Postal system to Railways in Bucks etc. Keep an eye out for the web address and look us up.
