• The Bear in stock.... Great food and great interior however the manager of the restaurant is unprofessional, rude , aggressive, totally unable to deal with customers and makes the visit to the pub totally unpleasant and unacceptable. The managers attitude and behavior is a total insult to the chef and owner of the establishment.
• after moving away from Stock a few years ago we decided to revisit our old haunt the Bakers Arms for a meal where we had always been extremely pleased with the meal and service,I now wouldn't recommend it even if I was drunk! I had asked for a medium steak and it came out rather well done for my liking and as not the cheapest menu I thought I would ask for another one....Big mistake I thought the chef was going to come out of the kitchen brandishing her chefs knife,foul language and a refusal to offer anything else in its place followed!! Eat there at your peril !
• The new owners of the chippy have really pulled the stops out and taken the quality to how it was when I was a child
• Chippy - now under new ownership. Not great reviews so far. Hot pastries from the Post Office/Grocers - great.
• The Post Office and General Stores at the crossroads sell sandwiches and drink. It is open every day of the week, although the Sunday opening is rather limited.
• THE BEAR PH STOCK - Nice building but a really unwelcoming host, mediocre food, very poor service in the restaurant, - generally can't be bothered with customers.
