• The indian resturant is abbismal..the food is the worst food i have ever had in an indian resturant anywhere in europe.Don't eat here unless you want to waste your money and have no regard for yourself. The Grovesnor Hotel has a really good resturant which is about the same price as a hungry horse pub for food.But the food is much better and there is more of it. There is a chinese restaurant called the black bean..I didn't have a chance to try it but the hotel staff said it was very good .
• we visited the greyhound during the christmas period and the supper was divine and today with the michelin food guide 2004 being released it gives the greyhound 1 star which puts it in the top 5% of restaurants in the uk
• Not in Stockbridge, but on the A30, the old leckford hut, a sub-par pub, is now one of the best french restaurants to which I have ever been. Splendid food, friendly service from the young couple that own it, a formidable wine list and delightful decorations. It's called 'Les copain d'abor' excuse my poor french spelling.
• My vote has to go for the Bacchus Restaurant at the Vine Inn,its blend of fresh Pasta & Pizza is great for lunch/sarnis also but the evening board is full of some great stuff fish & steaks etc 3 great meals had. ps dont bother with the Greyhound Inn meal for 2 & 1 bt of wine 88.00! :( We didnt mind paying on our hols but the unlocal host was very brash to the point of rudeness until obvious gentry showed up,pillock... 3 cups inn,french,v good white hart inn,plastic bag cookery ala ping! grosvenor hotel,didnt try looked dead.
