  • People tend to leave Stocksbridge for entertainment purposes. There was a cinema on Manchester Road that shut many decades ago. Penistone Paramount is the nearest cinema, and the nearest bowling is in Middlewood.
  • Penistone is nearest. It used to be the Metro and has recently changed its name to the Paramount, I think. Its very old, very grand, and has beer in the interval. Well worth checking you actually want to see the film which is playing, before you set out, though.
