Pubs
- No never?
- No never?
- the frenny is really the only place left open, and it now got a late bar, so evryone tends to go to rugby club etc 1st, then pile into frenny for last hour or 2....musics a bit crap thoug, well its all a bit crap at mo...not what it used to be...
- GOODFELLOWS!! GO ON MICKEY!!
This pub was the best pub in stocksbridge by far!! what an atmostphere on a Friday and Saturday! Wicked choonz, birds, beer, and lots of other stuff were what made it THE place to be if you loved gettin smashed and goin mad at the weekend! Then some trouble kicked off and it got shut down. Bollocks!!
- Goodfellows has been shut down
- The Miners Arms is a nice pub, great karaoke. If you want to play pool there watch out for the fireplace (grazed elbows ahoy)
- If you are wanting fine wine, intelligant conversation and attractive women the only place worth considering is the New Inn on a sunday morning between 2am and 5am. 'Its my favourite place in the world' (B.Button 12.3.97)
- GOODFELLOWS - Formerly known as the Coach & Horses, this pub tried for a bit to get a trendyish clubby vibe going. I think it's given up now. Not a bad pub.
ROYAL OAK - A nicish pub. Does a pub quiz and has a jamming night for guitarists and the like!
KING AND MILLER - Another decentish pub, bang opposite the Royal Oak for lazy pub crawlers. Has a pool table and a not-completely-crap jukebox.
Others include - Red Grouse, Silver Fox, New Inn, Pen Nook, Miner's Arms (aka The Rag) and if you fancy a walk through the countryside, the Castle in nearby Bolsterstone.
- Mostly spread along Manchester Road - not a bit of trouble, no underage drinking and never open late.
The Grouse is cool, but is at the top of a damn great hill (near the lateshopper). Not so easy to get to, but not so bad to get home from :-)
- RED GROUSE.
GOOD SAM SMITHS BEER - I RECOMMEND THE BOTTLES OF PILS.
BAR STAFF VERY ATTRACTIVE.
