- Ratty's house is a well known smoking den. You have to bring your own, casue the wee scabby mink never has any..
- Jenny Spinks makes a cracking cup of tea after the dirty has been done. STDs are the cost.
- Molly Gunnings have a lovely cafe, good service and nice atmosphere right on the beach although the food is pricey (but worth it)
- Ginos is cosy and tha food is a little overpriced as many Italians are but do not go there if you are very hungry as the portions although tasty are very very small, like about as much as you would feed a 10 year old!
- Old Dexters, run by a little gook, rubbish!

- Villa Coffee Shop, Arbuthnott Place. Good lunches, great cakes, nice atmosphere.(For pre- and post-adolescents.)

- Crown coffee shop, quite cheap and very good on sunday mornings.
- Surfers is where hard men like Graham Cousin hang out and stare at you.
- "Here and Now" Christian Coffee Shop - great for peace and quiet / meeting people / youth cafe on Saturday nights / plenty space for prams, buggies and wheelchairs / smashing home-produced food at realistic prices /next to main bus terminal off the town's Market Square.
- Surfers cafe. Wouldn't go there at the risk of being stared at by ignorant 12 year olds.
