Musical Instrument Shops and DJ Gear
  • The man who bought the starter pack was robbed, as they are £30 cheaper at Stourbridge Music!! Ha ha!! Should have read this first!!
  • just been to the shop in the Merryhill centre,MakeMusic, was great!!! Quite suprised to see the comments below. Staff seemed friendly and helpful enough, shop looked great, rather big isn't it, brought a starter guitar pack seemed good value (wife was quite anooyed that I bought it without asking her)
  • There is one musical shop in stourbridge located on lower high strret,,, its called Yamaha, ive been there once and it seemed ok. Good value for money.
  • There is a music shop on lower high street i think its Yamaha....
  • Stourbridge Misic centre is the best music shop you can go to. If you ask any musician who's worth his/her salt then they'll tell you go there. The one at Merry Hill is Joke it must be as they think a G string is a pair of pants and probably charge you £100 for a pair!! Anyway back to my original comment. I you want real professionhal advice then go to this Music shop. If it's good enough for the bloke out of Led Zepplin then it's good enough for me. If they ain't got it, which is rare, then they can get it for you. They do fab deals unlike the afore mentioned place who(and i quote)'We don't need to do deals' and it then costs you an extra monkey! So the meral ofmy tale is go Tt stourbridge Music centre the best place in town!!
  • Stourbridge Music Centre - not exactly rock god-esque, but hey, it's cool.
  • Theres a Few Music shops in stourbridge, and i call them music shops reluctantly. theres dirty daves, AKA dave donovans. this guy has cheap nasty guitars coming from his rafters, and he charges over the odds. im not so sure about his drum wares, but guarenteed theyre cheaper elsewhere. then theres the yamaha center, lower high street. that place is a joke. high prices, unfriendly staff unless they know you have like £5000 in ur pocket, and their selection of equipment in stock is appauling. then theres make music. our saviour we would all thing, brand new music store in merry hill, just what we've wanted... sure if you want a store where the staff dont have a clue about the guitars theyre selling. and theyre overpriced yet again. if you want good value, for the same guitars, and to talk to people who know what you as a customer are talking about. then go to soundcontrol in brum, best place around. no contest.
  • The place on Lower High Street is fine. Never looked at me like I'm going to nick something. Probably because I'm from Hagley and not Stourbridge :-P Not overpriced. Haggle with them. They'll do you a good deal.
  • the organ centre lower hightstreet occasionally has a 2 for one on guitar strings.
  • smc has always been good to me
  • Just a note to warn others of the poor service they will receive from Stourbridge Music Centre in Lower High Street. The old bloke who runs the shop (who looks hard up and a bit thick) always looks at you as though you you're going to steal something. He seems to think it's the only place that you can buy instruments (wrong!!!). I went in there to order a £1500 guitar and was so disgusted by the owner's crumby attitude that I bought it from Donovan's (Amblecote) instead. The service at Donovan's was fantastic. Dave really looked after me and I'd always go back. As for Stourbridge Music Centre, be warned that the service is terrible and the guitars in there are very over priced. If you want good service and quality I'd suggest Donovan's or buying over the internet.
  • I think Stourbridge Music Centre in lower high street is pretty cool. They've got an excellent range of Crafter acoustics and the bloke in there is really cheerful and always pleased to see you. Oh... and they were on telly last week!!
  • the Yamaha shop on lower high street
  • Donovan's Music Store has never been in Enville Street. It is on the main road to Wolverhampton/Brierley Hill/Kingswinford/Dudley at Brettell Lane Junction, next to the Maverick pub.Mainly drums, but good for cheaper guitars and chat about life on the road.
  • that place up by swan pool park if its still there! or the shop down lower high street!!!!
  • the dodjy overpriced yamaha shop in lower high street. miserable staff who look at you as though u r gonna stick a piano up ur jumper and rob it
  • it wasn't donovans in enville street. something to do with strings?
  • that crappy Yamaha shop down the lower high street.. like the other guy said, the bloke who owns it always looks at you like you're gonna rob something (when my mates and I go in we get really weird looks.. we're college students), and they're really pricey. There's one in Enville Street, think it's closed down tho :o( that's Butchers, or Bouchers, or something!
  • Lower high street, opposite the College. I can't remember the name! (sorry Chris). Does Instruments (organs, guitars etc) and music and accessories. Good for guitar strings. Donovans on Enville street never seems open, and is next to the recording studios. There is another on the road out of the town centre toward Merry Hill, good for guitars.
  • Dave Donovans in Amblecote ... played with Screaming Lord Sutch, Noel Redding and John Bonham.... not a big shop but he's a cool bloke to stand and chat to for a while.
  • That shite Yamaha shop in lower high street, with the staff who look at you like your about to steal something.
