You can tell us more about Sunderland.
| The Best Things |
|
- Nightlife, women
- Cheapest city in Britain
- Sunderland AFC...
- The people, the sea, the nightlife and the totty!
- the people - i think on average, we're a friendly and down to earth lot. also, there's still traces of local community here and the place isn't so big that you can't walk to the town centre in less than an hour.
- parklane and pure. the bands and the famous people here.:/
- skaters are mint
- iVY hOUSE lAMBTON wORM tHE rOYALTY, Mowbray Park, REALLY GUD up and coming music scene Chambers, ku, me and my girlies paintingbthe city pink every thurs fri sat and sun nite, fit studenty indie boys!!!!!!!!!!!!
- genuinely loyal and decent folk who look after each other through all the shite that gets dumped on them each day.
Not being middlesborough.
Having a decent manager for once.
- I was a student here just left last year and I really enjoyed it. The university was really nice the people were really friendly and are really funny. The nightlife especially was fab and there was plenty of shops and things to do.
- Sunderland is warm and friendly place the people are dead nice
Plenty of pubs, clubs and shops.
- footy team, american golf discount on newcastle road
- the nightlife is pretty acceptable if u know where u r going
- some really cool people like dikka and rocker
- the best things... well elizebeths do lovley mince and dumplings... yum and thats the best thing....
- Watching Charves getting ran over
- The improvements since I've been away.
The new music scene that's sprung up (also since I've been away); most of the bands, or at least members of bands, have been knocking around in some form or another for years, so it's nice that they're getting national recognition.
The new university buildings down by the river.
- The people, the less hurried pace of the 'town', not, I repeat, not being Geordies - we are Mackams and proud of it!
- The uni and me!!
- the people out on a friday night thats not looking for either drugs or a fight.
- Leaving.
- Leaving.
- Sunderland is the "city" with the lowest count of Asylum seekers in the UK... I think that's because when they left Bosnia, Kurdistan & many other 3rd world countries they did it to get away from their slums & horrible living conditions. I have to be honest tho'... Sunderland's locals are fiercely proud of their "city"... after all not many of them will ever get the opportunity to live somewhere nice... harsh but true.
- some canny fit blokes
- my shop
- The New Monkey
SPINNIN disc
- u will never c any charvas in sunderland on a thursday night
- booze
- Roker park on a friday and saturday night go there it is in roker sunderland
- Me, the Ivy House.
- THE ROAD OUTTA THERE!!!!
- Yeah right! - erm, getting the fuck outta there as soon as I could aged 19!
- Everything, im from leeds and loved my three years there. One of my best mates is a mackem!!!! There seems to be a mad link between leeds and sunderland, some people are genuinely nice!
- ST ROBERTS of newminster in biddick, helluva place ther!
- cannot believe that this collumn exists. Well I suppose the roads out of maccamland could be included
- The people!
- Getting cheep cider with your mates when u r 15 and getting picked up by the police and getting chased from the police helicopter into Hylton Dene!
- The Guardian recently said that Sunderland University was one of the best new Universities and I'm peleased that it was Sunderland that gave me the chance to do my degree (which I passed). It's worth a look around by anyone considering applying to do a degree.
- ONLY ONE SUNDERLAND. THE PEOPLE
- redby ca football club and safc!
- WHEN THE SUN SHINES ON SUNDERLAND THERE IS NOWHERE BETTER.
- The people, were "git canny" us makams but if ya do come to sunderland I would reccomend you keep going til you get to Newcastle.
- mowbray park on a sunny afternoon with some fags and mates.
- The sea front, shame the council thinks amusement arcades are the only form of entertainment.
The Winter Gardens are comming on nicely, and Mowbray park is now worth a visit
- The A19 that brings you intoSunderland and the Football team!
- Improvements to make the city a better place (increased the size of The Bridges,
Metro coming eventually, new multiplex on its way, plans to improve different
types of nightlife, renovation of museum and Mowbray Park, National Glass Centre,
friendly people - obviously there are pratts, they're in every town and city so
don't tarnish us as the only place with a problem - I've been in the middle of
it kicking off outside a nightclub in Maidstone in Kent 'the Garden of England).
Plenty of other things too but lastly the Lads are 2nd in the Premier League!!!
Up yours Skunks!
- Leaving sunderland for little breaks, Tunstall Hill- the most amazing place in the world- go there..
- The people, the price of most things, the number of beautiful parks and coastline
- The best football club in the north east. A fast improving city centre. Penshaw Monument offers a brilliant high vantage point for birds eye views of the area around the Sunderland green belt and Washington.
- davey wooton top gezza
all the sexy girls and theres loads of em macam lass are the best
- Station Taxis always pick you up from anywhere and dont charge a fortune.
- Roker & Seaburn beaches.
- The Stadium of Light & The Beach
- The friendly peeps and cute lads
- At least it's not Kosovo.
- Most of the people are friendly and its a good mix of locals and students. SAFC is the best team ever and the Stadium is brilliant! The beach is great on a nice sunny day, well it will be if we ever get one up here!!!!
- It's cheapish, the university was okay and Pzazz a laugh
- SAFC
- I was once a student here and the best thing was that the local girls were gagging for it, a great place to go nightclubing and pub crawling and very friendly
- Recently went back to the olde home town and discovered SUPERB things are happening down by the harbour..The National Glass Museum is really worth a visit: lots of interactive upside down mirror and magnifying type things, glass sculptures, a dead trendy bar with a glass roof (try to remember not to walk over it in a skirt please, ladies) and the whole glass blowing demo to make you sweat. Brilliant.
