- if you are often found sporting a denim miniskirt, butterfly sequinned top covering just your boobies and a pair of rockports, or if u r male you like to wear a blue checky kickers/pod/rockport shirt, blue jeans and rockports/trainers, get on down to privilege - it is VILE! two rooms, one plays "R&B" i.e Akon - he is so lonely. the next room play more hardcore dance songs. its red hot, people are pilled off there heads, sweating more than whats natural on a human, drinks dont vary much from "pinta deeesel" "dubble voddy & red bull" or alcopops, Rock on privilege you are officially sunderland smost hideous nightclub,
- Ku club sucks, im sorry but its tru. Everyone their thinks their either really "scene", and cool. If they were as cool as they think they are, they would be at a better club. The music is the same main stream crap everyweek (how many times last year did BYOB and bohemian rhapsody get played. EVERY GOD-DAMN WEEK!!!!) if that wasnt bad enough the booze is over priced, and you now have to pay to get in!!! whats up with that???? If you want a night of over priced drinks, date rape, people who just learned to wipe their arse tryin to talk down to you, then by all means head to ku on a thursday. Oh and watch out for the charvs downstairs. Dont get me wrong its sometimes canny, and it can be really good but, the little things will start to nag at you after a while.
- Calling all Students Thursday nights were invented for Diva and Liquid. The place gets packed. The Charva's mainly take over upstairs in Liquid which plays the usually Dance and R+B and Down Stairs in Diva has alot more Rock etc (student music)
- Ku Club - still the best for indie music on a saturday night, just don't stop off on the first floor....
- For all the indie kids out there monday nights at ku there is a night called neeedle damage which plays loadsa gud stuff new and old!! stone roses babyshambles libertines arctic monkeys the inspiral carpets kasabian blondie inxs new order etc.thursday nights at diva r ok same dj who used 2 b in pzazz b4 it closed i think but Chambers upstairs plays a gud selection of rock indie and metal music and is only £3 entry!!! Sum fridays chambers runs a nite by local djs jarvis and julie which rocks!!! and Saturday nites ku is gud 4 indie fans whereas chambers is the placve 2 go 4 all metal fans
- clubs? hmm, save yourself the hassle, go to newcastle. In fact if you insist on being herded like cattle, then Ku is the place for you. Mmmmooooooooo.
- Diva and Liquid. Beach is good aswell
- Pzazz is Closed!!
- The new Liquid/Diva is best of a bad bunch! Liquid is like a rave - all thats missing is the white gloves n whistles...
Diva is for the "older" clientelle, v cheesy.
Infact - why the hell do i pay £7 to get into this place... cos ive had enough of the dj in KU managing to get away with playing the same CD for years...
- IF YOUR LOOKING FOR A GOOD CLUB IN SUNDERLAND IT HAS TO BE PRIVILEGE, THE NORTHEASTS NUMBER ONE NIGHTCLUB. OVER THE LAST YEAR OR SO PRIVILEGE HAS CONTINUED GROWING AND NOW HAS ITSELF A GOOD OLD REPUTATION FOR GETTING SOME TOP QUALITY DJ'S UP THERE! OVER THE LAST 3 MONTH ALONE I HAVE SEEN THE LIKES OF REBEKKA Vs. YOMANDA (BATTLE OF THE SEXES), SHAPESHIFTERS, N-TRANCE, ANNE SAVAGE Vs. SCOTT BOND (BATTLE OF THE SEXES) LISA LASHES AND MANY MORE ON THE WAY IN THE NEW YEAR!!!!
- HONKY TONK @ DIVA - Every Tuesday 10pm til 3am. GAY - BI - STR8 - HETRO - RETRO - SKATER - FUNKY - SPUNKY- POP - GRUNGE - ALTERNATIVE - FREEDOM - DANCY - NOT TOO PRANCY KIND OF THING**** If you dabble, or would like to dabble. Or just do not mind if others dabble... Then HONKY TONK is for you.
- PRIVILEGE have brought some life back to Sunderland & Started last month with DJ Anne Savage & Scott Bond....Excellent !!!
- only club worth going to is Ku. It is truly fantastic. I love it!
- go down stairs in ku club, its really good!!!! its called legends nite, so imagine the music it plays, you want it, request it and they probs will play it. Led zepplin, Queen, Pink Floyd,Just to name a few, show up, u neva no, u may enjoy urself!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Plus the ppl there are well hot!!!
- OK I am a student here too and these were the places to be during the week:
Monday - Privilage
Tuesday - MQ rock night, but it's dead... often my night off...
Wednesday - Has to be MQ!! 70s/80s music and we all meet up for a laugh
Thursday - Pzazz student night The best night of the week
Friday & saturday - don't do it in sunderland - chavas everywhere.
Someone told me Pzazz has closed this summer! No idea what I'll do if it has!!
- well i have to say i cant stand the shit that they play in the New Monkey and im pleased it has been closed down just a bunch of crazed smackheads in there whos probably knicked the money to go there in the first place. if anyone wants a garrenteed class night out then head for pzazz its mint for 10 quid in on a friday night and all your drinks are free the music is class and if you dont like smackheads its the place to go!!!!
- chos
- KU Club is da bomb, pity about the charvas downstaires. Friendly staff, great music upstaires, S**T downstraires, everyones out to enjoy themselves, even the bouncers are friendly: especially Kev on the door, best bouncer in town always up for a laugh. Get yourself to KU.....dare U
- Brilliant new rock night started at Pzazz on a Saturday for details see - www.rockatpzazz.com
- Sunderland is the youngest city in the uk to date and has the biggest growing economy in england, so getting back to the point Sunderland night life is great and best of all its getting better. So ignore all the critics that slag Sunderland off because there really isnt nothing wrong with the place, and also one more point take no notice of the people who tell you to go to newcastle as the place is full of beggers on the streets and dick head geordies who cant handle there drink and likes to start fights. So if your a more mature older person try Beach its for ages from about 25 - 35 and Privlage or Pzazz for the ages of 20 - 25, and Anabells for any one younger.
- liquid is the best club to be at its modern and plays good music. also there isnt much trouble in the place but the bouncers can be a BIT heavy handed if one does occur
- liquid is the new club to go to
- Beach - incredible array of young looking, Toni & Guy wannabes who treat the 'V.I.P' section like it was the Red Carpet at the Oscars. Regulars have their own corners so watchout!
Pzazz - Ok on a thursday night. Cheap beer, music alright at times. Watch out for bouncers. In fact, don't look at them.
Q - Used to be quite good before all the neanderthal townies started piling in from downstairs' 'Manhattan' club. Now it's packed with gangs from Hendon waiting till you pay a visit to the toilets.
Annabel's - No comment
Liquid - so far so good
Best piece of advice: Try substance and around that area, end up in Chase and go home!!
- pzazz, and maby bar36
- Beach, Liquid
- the youthy and thats it
- i would say that the best place to go on a sataurday night would be to the new monkey. it starts at 11'o clock and doesnt finish till 7am. it's bouncy as fuck and u can meet people from all over the north east. theres loads a charvas but they are all cowied off their heads which makes them more friendly. if you can't last it untill 7am in the morning then u just go over the hospital and order a taxi. i swear down its fucking tremendous.
- sabotage ( on saturdays)it is based near mcdonalds, and pzazz
- The New Monkey
- PZAZZ and BAR36
- Bar 36 it start at 8pm and finishes at 2am (sometimes)
Pzazz...party there doesn start till 11 but there r some HOT ASS lasses in there
- -ku is full of charvas-sirens is mint whatch out for the big darky she's wild-pizaz (pissed as) is not bad-beach is full of snoby cunts so is priv.brogans is shite.tavan is full of chocolate stabbers.underground is good but the dj is a bit of a knob jocky (cairnsey)annabels well what can i say class music lots of fanny and the odd burk but u get them eveywhere i.e (*david haley*)-boulavard is canny cos we know the barman who gives us freebies all nite.cheers mate ill not mention ur name though.-idols is alright but that heap of shit over the road FLARES is full of elton johns and mo slaters.in all the town is shit but if u have half a bottle of vodka before u go out its amazing.(i will update this every month as things change alot down that shit hole what sad bastards call the town. DATED 17-10-03 next update 17-11-03
- Liquid is opening october 2003 R&B and also DIVA over 25's only KU STILL ROCKS. Place to go now is the trendy late night cafe bars that have been opening every few months in the PARK LANE AREA of Sunderland City Centre all open til 1am CHASE and PURE and LUMA and INNFUSSION and TTONIC also Berlins and for underground grooves and nightly DJ sets then go to THE WHITE ROOM.... There are more coming soo too. These bars have a very laid back atmosphere very good DJ sets and varied music from R&B to soul funk house acid jazz. There is really fantastic fussion of music all in bars right next door to each other. The dress code is wear what the f**k you want be trendy or casual. Wear trainers if you want to. just chill and enjoy...Things are moving on up!!!!!!
- The best dance club in sunderland....well in the north-east is by far the new monkey all nighter, there may be a lot of drug use but exactly the same goes on in any other dance club in the county jus not to the extent. Guaranteed a good nite with the best crowd entertainers for spanish techno, italian house and gud old makina.
- The new monkey dance clb is a good place to go if ya like the music
- Beach is like a youth club, sirens is full of perverts and annabells is empty. KU rocks.
- if you have ever visited a less developed city in the uk, I wanna know. Apart from the students, you will be associating with cro-magnon man in clubs owned, promoted and dj'd by neanderthals. Chambers has the occasional night worth visiting, but there are few outlets for creative new talent on the decks. Lads wear faras and crap shirts, lasses wear bikini and mini-skirt especially in sub-zero conditions. Don't dress original because the bouncers won't let you in. Top tip: Watch out for townies at taxi ranks wearing shell suits and lumi pods asking, "gorrany gowie" or "lend us 10 bob for me bussy" cause they are really "Gaana gaan to the lesh cos it's git chos". For a more enjoyable night out, there are outlets for most tastes in Newcastle
- MQ is top, beach was getting good. Its a crime that the palace was closed!
- Avoid THE RANCH in washington at ALL costs its hell on earth!
- Parvada
- The best club in Sunderland is by far Beach. DO NOT GO TO CHAMBERS, thats unless you like to be stuck to the carpet all night and just love the sweet smell of SWEAT!!!
If you are a student, Manor Quay is brilliant (for the first year!!!
- Advice: get on the exciting new metro and go to Newcastle!
- beach- nice place but shit music
- Priveledge! is the best club eva!
- The New Monkey is the best all night Private members dance club in sunderland & north east (appart from THE AFTERDARK 2 if you live in south sheilds) membership is £5 you can pick it up from the club. open every saturday 11pm-7am lots of people on E but it only makes them more friendly. Also The best DJ's & Mc's the likes of Mc Techno T, Mc Jet, MC Stompin(Smach head but still no1)
DJ Matrix, DJ Scott, DJ Reeper DJ Direct wicked
- the monkey
- Well the number one spo is pzazz although only last week at the tender age of 21 I WAS TURFED! by paul the manager and doorman, a notoriosly anti social fella unless your a female, cos hes had half of sunderlands female population. Just remember to take I.D! The club for the hyper active clubber who may often partake in the sauded act of the illegal substance I would highly reccomend the New Monkey for its uplifting happy hardcore and very social members, its £10 in if your a member and £15 if your not but your garanteed a good night out form the dusk til dawn (11 til 7am).
- one top club in sunderland is the new monkey it may be a happy hardcore club but it is open all night and there is 3 rooms for all types of clubber go go go!
- Bring it on ANNABELS!!!
- annabels(is that the spelling) hosts SABATAGE (?) every monday night, 2 of our english pounds in, oddy playing anything he likes, top stuff, cheap drink, friendly activities, always something happening, look out for a wiggy drunk though, buit of a tit that one
- Pzazz is the best place for dance music on a weekend now!
- I was unfortunate enough to spend a few hours in a club called Pzazz while visiting a friend. During my short stay, my brother was kicked to the ground, and thrown out apparently for bleeding too much, and i was hit several times by a complete stranger. my contact lens fell onto my cheek, and as i went to retrieve it, this ape-man continued to hit me...sunderland is an appalling night out.
- Anabels has just started an R:N:B nite and it is well cool u can just chill all nite or dance till u drop it is by far the club to go to on a monday nite. But before u go their u should visit Liberty;s who are working with bels to make monday nite a good nite out, their are also playing R:N:B all nite, their resident D.J,s make this a very enjoyable nite.
- The Manor Quay on a Saturday night is brilliant and Pzazz on a Thursday is sometimes great too.
- Annebels rocks but lads are too frisky!!!
- All clubs in sunderland are sh*te, full of chavas and bad comercial dance music.. wander over to Newcastle.
- KU Club - High Street - best in town - indie/alternative - gay/lesbian friendly but not exclusive - from students to 30 somethings.
- pazzaz suck but it still the best we have got loads of 20 something gilrs gagging for.but also loads of dicks who think there hard, loads of fights
- The palace does a really good student night on a Monday. A pound in(with NUS)and 1.20 for bottles. Bargain!!
Manor Quay is good on a Wednesday night(70/80S).Well worth the measly 2.50 entry fee just to look at the DJ. Nice
- Pzazz is one of the best places if you're not older than 25. Stay out of KU-club, as it is the crappiest club I've ever been to. As in all clubs the ventilation is terrible or not present, but it doesn't get any better because they let too many people inside. You can't even move! Stay out of Royalty as well, the furnishing is bad.
- Pzazz on Thursday was good a year or so ago, but ever since they started playing the mainstream dance crap. It's filled with locals all the time which can be quite intimidating. Just don't set foot in the Palace it'll be the death of you!
- Club Boyeater @ The Royalty happens most months. It needs a set date though. they play indie pop, punk, lo fi, space rock... that kind of thing. For rock and punk you can't do better than Sabotage at the Q Club, kids doing it for themselves. I heard they were moving to Club XS down by the river. It's cheap and LOUD. Maybe the very irregular Club Voodoo nite too. Hands up who misses Pazazz?!
- Well if you want to find a woman you had better go to Chambers on a Saturday night. If you can't find one on the dancefloor pay a visit to the blokes bogs. All the lasses go in there cos theres always a que for their bog.
- Dance music clubs? In Sunderland? Don't be silly. However:
* Chambers on a Friday night has Peach nights - capable DJs every week. Scott Bond and Lisa Lashes were on last month. Worth a go.
* Club XS, Saturdays. Famous for the lapdancing club, otherwise Marc Swan plays out progressive trancey-house every fortnight or so.
* Pzazz. Shite Ritzy club. Fights every week. Tons of 15 year-olds. Chart-toss music supplemented by 70s discowank. Bouncers will push you out of the way on the dancefloor in an attempt to stop fights.
* The Palace. Like Pzazz, but older crowd, and better bouncers. R&B on a Tuesday. Possesses a revolving dance floor that never gets used.
* Annabels. Second-rate Myra Hindley of a club. Popular on Wednesday's 70s night, no-one goes there otherwise.
* Ku Club. Size of a shoebox. It's hell. Strippers on a Sunday (apparently.)
- I am a regular in Pzazz! It's a bit of a mixed bag really. Lots of young'ns and oldies but its all good fun. Saturdays are quite dancey to start off with but by the end all the disco and 80's stuff kicks in. Wake me up before you go go!
- PZAZZ is a right laugh, cheap drinks, good music (sometimes!)& the bouncers sort out any trouble straight away. Chambers is sooooo boring!! The Maner Quay can be alright its could do with a clean though!
- PZAZZ, Always used to be great fun when I was student here. The Manor Quay is okay, I used to work there, not bad if you like a bit of a laugh. Most night clubs in Sunderland are meat markets though.
- The Palace
- Chambers: Dance music most nights, but student night on Mondays plays some good stuff PZAZZ: I know it's a pathetic name, but it's a good place to go on a Thursday (Rock night), every other night is dance and rave (am I allowed to say "rave" or am I now breaking the law). Ku: Alternative club, decent music most nights (it's closed the other nights!) The one I can't remember the name of above the Kebab shop next door to the Cinema: No,no, no,no,no,no, no,no,no,no,no, no,no,no,no,no,no,no,no,no!!!!! Anabels: Good for a dance, to some good dance music.
- Chambers- don't go on a staturday if your a student-townie night Annabels, good for a laugh on wednesdays
- A few decent clubs:- Manor Quay - usual student han out, best on Wednesday (70/80's night) and Friday (Dance). The Nightclub - A rediculous name for a night club coz no one knows what u r talking about. Expensive drinks and crap food served as well. Has 2 floors. Student night is Mondays - expensive. Annabels - Went on a Wednesday, nearly got my head kicked in.
- The student club is pretty good on Wed (Rock night) Friday and Sat
- I'm a Manor Quay girl mayself but then again I am a student. ( aggh! Sorry) Chambers on a Monday is ok but abit much sometimes. Pzazz! on a Thursday is always safe for a good night out. Palace is good most nights, cheap drinks, vodka bar, revolving dancefloor. Can't go wrong. (Or can you?)
- Fino's is the ONLY club to go to if you're in the 25+ bracket and not a studenty type.
