- Biz "R" on the corner of High Street & Fawcett Street serves the best coffee in town
- Santanas on John Sreet do a mean cappuchino......
- The one in the bridges not sure on the name

- Kefen - Frederick St. Really Cool Hang out joint. Good food. Good Crack. Also BIZ - R on Fawcett St. Jazz Cafe. The White Room. Is good daytime hang out to. Chill man Chill
- otakas is cool you can have a coffe and read a book its upstairs to the main store
- up stairs in the bookshop in the bridges they have the best coffee and hot choc in sunderland
- The purple olive shut down about 3 years ago!!
- Hamilton's on John Street is great - a deli with its own tea room
- B&B muffins, cafes in the library, cafe in the book shop

- Elizabeths near the wear bridge, superb, if you can get in - full house regulrarly

- B-ZAR COFFEE SHOP.OPENED AT THE START OF THE YEAR (2002) LOCATED AT THE CORNER OFF HIGH STREET WEST AND FAWCETT STREET WERE TUCCI USED TO BE.
- These things are all over the place now that the bridges have been made over, ya cant escape them!!
- Morrisons,Seaburn.Avoid this place like the plague!!!! When you sit down with your "breakfast special " I would advise you not to use your nostrils for breathing inwards.A quick look around and your in the Darby 'n' Joan club.The whole place SMELLS of old people and your grannys dirty linen basket.I do appologise if your eating while reading this!!!!
- the coffee in ottakers is to die for (literally). wish there was a starbucks here like in the open prison sorry newcastle.
- Debenhams coffe shop is too expensive!
- Costa's is now open upstairs in Ottakers bookshop in the Bridges shopping centre
- Cafe Latte - vine place - traditional italian coffe house with food and alcohol. Laid back staff - service sometimes slow but worth the wait.
Louis cafe in park lane - really cheap and at the lower end of the arket, but a cup of excellent espresso will set you back 73p.
cafe venue - inside debenhams store, the bridges. - make sure you get a card - then you get a free coffee after every six purchase - great place to watch the girls go by
If you want to save moiney - go inside the careers building in fawcett street next to the library - you can read the papers and have a cup of filter coffe for only 10p.
A Costa's coffee shop will open soon inside Ottakers bookstore in the bridges
- The Refectory on Foyle St., near the city centre, is a bit hard to find but the food is realy good and realy cheap. However it does get busy at lunch times.
- Purple Olive obviously. Good for veggies/vegans. Nice atmosphire. Nice Mod decor.
