• High Fidelity Studios, on Riverside South (behind Matalan) is THE place to rehearse - they've got everything you need, and you get a stage, lighting - the lot, including free filter coffee.
• The Bunker, The Music Rooms
• there's a free rehearsal place and basic studio in the community centre on hylton road - just opposite the hospital - but i think it's primarily intended for young (under 21) musicians. the studio itself isn't up to much though cos it's right next door to the rehearsal room and there's no soundproofing... so don't bother trying to use it on a saturday morning - odds are, there'll be an angsty goth band next door and you won't be able to hear what you're doing.
