Can anyone please tell me if this place is still going. I played for the bowls club there for a couple of years and played against them for many more. Is it still called The new Inns or has it changed its name.

Old friends from Sutton. by Bob Straughan (Member 10236408) on 27-Mar-2009
I was at RB 1959 - 1964 and lived at Rectory road. Classmates, Dave Edwards, John Beadman and obviously others. Also friends Hank Wood known for Chess and Tim Mott. I was in the church choir and a bell ringer and knew Susan Watford and her horse and Anne Williams. Would love to hear from them or any info regarding their whereabouts.

Hi, this is Tony (Antony) Bradbury, and my older brother, Peter and I, too attended Riland Bedford in the same period as yourself. I contacted the school (it has a new name) and they had no records for any old boys or of school activities. This is a crying shame. I did make contact with Robert White, but, sadly, he died of lung cancer last year. Names I recall...

    Hi Dave
I now live near Abergavenny and occasionally travel into the uncharted areas of Mid and North Wales with a TVR car club. We used to go to Devils bridge each year for bonfire night and called at Aberaeron for fish and chips on the way up. Small world indeed. Old Sutton Coldfield by Rob Carruthers (Member 10218281) on 18-Dec-2007
Does anyone know where 'Highlands', Sutton Coldfield is/was? It is an address from around 1905
  • Re: Old Sutton Coldfield by Iain Sanders. (Member 10249107) on 26-Jun-2010
If it was a house called 'The Highlands', lived in by Mr & Mrs Pickering - although I visited often I don't remember just where it was. Mr P. was a Leader in The Crusaders Sunday school, so if you can contact them (or indeed look in a '60's phone book), you could get the address. It was a big house with a very large garden.
