ANYONE OUT THERE FROM HEALDSWOOD SCHOOL. THERE SEEMS TO BE PLENTY FROM HILLOCKS & WESTBOURNE I WENT TO PRIESTSIC INFANTS AND JUNIORS, THEN ONTO HEALDSWOOD. I REMEMBER MR GIBBONS, MISS FOX AND THAT B...STARD MR HYTON. FOR A LAY PREACHER HE WAS WICKED AND VINDICTIVE ALL THESE AT PRIESTSIC ROAD. MR GUNBY, MR & MRS SEWEL BENNY THOMPSON. Can anyone remember the disused public bath that used to be just outside Sutton Lawn near the entrance at the Garden Lane end, back in the 1950s? It was white tiled as I recall, and was always full of old hedge clippings and other rubbish. I believe it was at one time serviced by a natural spring. And often hovering nearby was a local character who used always to be pushing a wooden handcart full of reclaimed goodies. first time ive been on here for about two year, and i can certainly tell. i used to live on leamington, in the early 70`s. it wasnt so bad then, and i think everyone who lived there at that time would agree. but most of the people i know have either move d or died, ive been round a few times just to see what the place looks like now after all this time and i must say, i think i`ve seen the last of it. i know when i lived there everyone was reasonably close, friendship wise, but then again whats the differance between there and anywhere else. nothing......... a place is what we all make it. good or bad. and iam sure there is still a lot of good people living in the area of leamington. as is with everywhere else, and a lot of bad. ... more >> Reply

Hughie Green had his show on Radio Luxembourg in the 50,s and although I never got to appear on it, there was one Suttonian who did her name was Brenda Housley, a wonderful girl Soprano, who later married Harry Sa nsom they ran Sansom's furniture shop at the bottom of the Market.
