Favourite Building in Swansea, Glamorgan*
Art deco, contemporary, futuristic, tall, short...
You can tell us more about Swansea.

|
- brangwyn hall
- Swansea Railway Station the gateway to the real World..
- We love the Patti Pavilion. And the castle.
- Waterstones on Oxford Street, many of the building in Uplands, that weird healthfood shop near Oxfam and Woolies (above ground level), that cafe near the train station with the will-it-fall-off roof, the guildhall and Branwyn Hall.
- oystermouth castle..lit up at night awsome
- Ace electrics down the strand
- the grand theatre, the waterstones building and the old buildings of wind street and the maritime quater...gorgeus
- Swansea Castle (or what ever's left of it) and the Morgan, our only 5 * hotel.
- The museum neare the marina!
- The old police station and library on Alexandra Road - monumental and lots of history. Given half the chance the council will probably pull it down and build lego looking flats like that on High St. Give it an award and the public will not like but do nothing and life goes on.
- fAITH!! SHOE SHOP!!
- Quadrant
- Plantasia. It's a mini version of the Eden Project.
- not quite a building but the unis kool for its skate able areas!
- county hall
- Patti Pavilion
- ITS GOTTA BE ANN SUMMERS
- Oystermouth Castle
- The church with the two towers on St. Helen's Road, the church with the white pillars a bit further down from it (although it burnt down last week so its future hangs in the balance) and the old bingo hall on the high street is pretty cool, but is all sad and boarded-up.
- That club up on the headland that used to Neptunes and is now a restaurant, purely because I had some good nights out there.
- any pub
- swansea market
- Swansea Castle!!!!
Followed closely by the building on high street where Rileys is situated. Look above the first floor of that long set of buildings, and the architecture is immense!
- TOP BANANA
- Wow - i came back to Swansea after being away for a few years and it's a different world! Stop whinging - it's really lovely now! But my favourite building has to be Pennard Castle for sheer breathtaking beauty.
- cross keys pub(oldest in wales-technically)- front 17thc, rear 14thc- beer crap
- The Dylan Thomas Centre. One of Swansea's underrated attractions- shamefully undermarketed by the local council, which means that half of Swansea haven't heard of it. I went to a weedding reception here and it is the best venue ever. Top food, top service. top layout. Try it for yourself.
- There is a building on Oxford St., that used to house Harrison Brothers and
a hoover repair shop, that is now abandoned and looks exactly like the
Addams Family house. Lift your eyes from the ground floor and you'll see
what I mean. Really gothic and spooky, and totally out of place with the
surrounding buildings.
In fact, Swansea has some really cool buildings if you only look above the
ground floor, but then you do tend to walk into lamp posts.
- Waterstones bookshop
- Whoever said County Hall surely means The Guildhall, as County Hall qualifies for worst building in Swansea by a long way
- The frontages that remain of some of the older buildings (usually at first floor and above, alas). The castle!
- The County Hall.
