You can tell us more about Swinton.

Hookup Spots
  • The Upper Crust
  • Used to be preo (precinct) until PC hamshaw decided to go on a pointless rampage of trying to move about forty kids off car park. Park view previlian used to be a popular place too.
  • there is also the youth club where we have had 68 young people coming for the last few weeks keeping them off the streets not all teenagers are bad !!!!
  • Preo - where all the chavs go and drop litter and cause trouble, speshli on a friday night after a £5 bottle of vodka or the 8cans for £6 deal frm the co-op!! Also on broady bt theres normally a lot of feytin wi druggies but its good fun!
  • creaton woods
  • ive seen you around yates' and at the town hall on your skateboards wearing clothes 4 sizes too big and screaming/roaring (singing slipknot)
  • usually the preo (precinct) where nobodys hang around with bottles of cider...its almost a tourist attraction these days
  • Nowadays in Swinton the main hanging spots are: for the Skater and Moshers of Swinton - The Robin Hood Car park, Swinton Common (Outside Carls Cabin), the doors of St Margrets Church. For the Trouble causing youth (Prima Donnas or Townies) Basically anywere they want,
  • travs, teenage hook up joint from hell
  • definitely Woodman Roundabout - especially if you're a biker, that was before the filth started handing out tickets for parking your bike on a roundabout- OK so its against the Highway Code, but that means you have to park your bike miles away next to the bus stop bogs (am I showing my age?)
  • Two Cans of Special Brew on a bench outside the Butcher's Arms
  • The hip place in 2001 is around about the Health Centre and Rotherham Councils district offices.
  • Numerous logs/benches/bridges which also incorporate the free distribution of alcohol and drugs for under-14's. Result!
  • Precinct
  • Most of us go out to the travellers on friday evenings. We all used to go to Highfield park and before that to the precinct but we got chased off by the police so many times we gave up. Pottery ponds is a good place to hang out on a summers day, take a bat n ball n a few beers n it doesn't matter that everyone believes its the suicied spot!!! depending on your age, the youth club is a great place to be on a winter evening. The youth workers are the kindest people you can ever meet and they help you with your problems. There are certain days dedicated to certain ages so only one night a week is fine for you! Many of the pubs in swinton allow underages in. Well, I'm not saying at like 14 or 15 they will let you in but, if you look old enough they'll certain let you in at the canal bar!
  • How come its still the same blokes hanging around the precinct, Woodman and Croda, with cars as when I was 15. It just shows how much ambition they have. Hmmm!!
  • Pit Pony field was a great hang out in the Eighties for us Hatherley Road folk
  • There are few places the people of swinton can meet or are willing to meet, a hostile and unforgiving place where if u dare to be different you pay the price. As you can tell im not a big fan of Swints but id say the Station or precinct a place for young small minded stereotyped biggots frequent
  • I remember hanging around the Tar Distillers (all on word I once thought !! - Tardistillers) as a youth, flattening pennys on the railway and causing general havoc the likes of which I now frown upon.
  • The church yard has become popular with the 12 year olds of sunny swinton for some reason!
  • Well, you've gotta say croda or the precinct, although wear your trainers 'cos you might need to escape the bobbies!
  • Has to be pottery pond during the Summer, a great place to while away those summer evenings.
  • The precinct, and highfield park on a Friday.
  • snoggers log in cretan woods. speaks for its self
  • woodman roundabout. good for meeting fellow walkers. you can sit on a bench, admire the daf's and watch the world go by.
  • Swinton Presinct
