- 24th Dec Christmas eve is fancy dress night, most people go on a pub crawl in a costume.Watch for all the girls dressed up as sexy coppers and nuns,this is cop off night.Most people start off at the Gate inn and walk down the road,a good night to get a shag
31st Dec new years eve even more fancy dress fun,another pub crawl and a repeat of the week before.

- Look for that tree on the horizon, its stood out on its own, That has been named by me and my friends as the tree of woe.
- Did I mention the Bacon Sarnies from Sar ....
- Swinton has a thriving Scout group based at the woodman and also as a couple of Girl Guide groups. Swinton Community Library plays host the Swinton Writers Group and the Health Centre opens up every last tuesday of every month for the Dearne Valley Cancer Support Group. There are also some Townswomen Gulid Groups and a special mother todler group.
- If youre from out of town and are planning a night out in Swints, just remember these simple points: 1)Theres safety in numbers, 2)Don't let on that you are from out of town. The locals are fear outsiders. They bring with them the great plauge, apparently. 3)Get in, get out. Don't stay for longer than neccessary.

- All in all Swinton is a nice place to live and not far from whatever you want! People are nice.
