  • The Cheese Shop and South West Crafts
  • Basically a genuine warm welcome from most places, even on rainy days
  • Dartmoor, pubs
  • Good range of shops and generally nice people
  • The library which has been modernised, the locals attitudes - great people. One of the best things there is Emma Davies - me. Hehehe.... Also Goosey Fair.
  • Kelly College - The views from there are amazing and its like the set from Harry Potter inside!
  • Well, Tavistock isn't too lacking in local amenities, and it's not so far from Plymouth that if you fancy a bit of 'city life' you can't drive over and find some. It's relatively peaceful, and quiet, all those things that people above the age of about 11 and below the age of about 24 hate, but still, if it weren't for the fact that Tavistock is 'boring' and there is very little criminal activity, they wouldn't be able to hang out in the places that they do. Very pleasant walks, gorgeous views, friendly locals (for the most part).
  • The new subway now being built from the Meadows to Tavistock School
  • Mervin Lillycrap (Jr)
  • there is no good things 4 young people!tavistock is definatly aimed more at retired and middle aged people if ur young DON'T move here!
  • friendliness
  • The best things about Tavistock are it's physical appearance, some stunning views, the abundance of beautiful trees, how safe and clean it is, and the standards of food. Though the town pubs are pretty poor on the whole, the restaurants in town and country pubs just outside are amongst the best in Europe. Meadowlands is a terrific swimming pool, but the Wharf Arts Centre next door is pretty second rate. The market in the town is rather shabby, but still popular, especially on Friday mornings when the town is at its very worst.  The local superstore is disappointing for a store that size.

30 mins drive to city of Plymouth, 45 mins drive to city of Exeter, 50 mins drive to the spectacular beach at Trebarwith Strand, North Cornwall.

  • You can buy pretty much anything there. Feeling smug that you live somewhere that coachloads of "innits" want to visit. ("innit" as in "innit nice dahn ere")
  • Getting drunk in the medows
  • Goosey Fair. A fantastic opportunity to blow loads of money on fairground attractions. - Bugger the tradition! Leaving to go to somewhere a little higher up the map of the uk and a little nearer civilisation
