  • WEST Thamesmead wildlife, green spaces, waterfront, canals, park, friends, that its a really friendly place to live
  • Strolling along the river front, watching the birds feeding on the mud flats and just looking at the light on the water.
  • 'I love the smell of napalm in the morning' a wise man once said, but to live and breathe in Thamesmead you have to get use to the smell of a thousand gallons of festering urine and crap eminating from the sewage plant just yards away from your back door. The beautiful lakes and canals that laden the area that breed all manner of insects that cant wait to leech off the residents. I wasn't talking about the asylum seekers either.To live in Thamesmead is an experience, to turn one corner you might believe you had walked into deepest darkest Africa, another you might believe you were in eastern Europe.... so come all you thrill seekers, enjoy the party.

  • The river, and miles of footpaths. On the Green Chain Walk which takes you through Lesnes Abbey Woods.
  • The Youth Awareness Programme (YAP) and the Youth Inclusion Projects (YIPs)! The Junior YIP is for 8-13 year olds and is held at Tavy Bridge Hall down by the lake. There are games, arts & crafts, toast, playstation, football with Charlton Athletic and loads of other things to enjoy. 4-6pm Term time except Tuesdays. The Senior YIP is for 13 - 19 year olds held at YAP from 6.30 - 9pm every evening.   • Being a youth there and growing up in an urban area...Being bad is so good!
  • Southmere Lake - a nice walk, pleasant greenery in the middle of Thamesmead, you can go boating, canoeing and fishing.

  • PLENTY OF PLAY PARKS FOR THE KIDS, GLIMPSING GREEN ONE O'CLOCK CLUB, BIRCHMERE ONE O'CLOCK CLUB, TIGER'S EYE CHILDREN'S PLAYCENTRE(STAFF VERY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL), TRUST THAMESMEAD, IF YOU NEED ANY HELP WITH ANYTHING (AND I MEAN LITERALLY ANYTHING) THEY'LL SORT YOU OUT,THAMESMEAD CHILDREN'S CENTRE, THAMESMEAD ADULT EDUCATION CENTRE,YARNTON WAY, EVERY THING ABOUT THAT CENTRE IS BRILLIANT, EVERY ONE THERE IS SO FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL! THE, ON THE WHOLE, GOOD COMMUNITY SPIRIT.
