Arts, crafts and such

• Noose making lessons 9-5pm on Thursdays at the Cross Keys. Free to anyone who has the misfortune to have to live there.
• Rural Arts put on some good workshops for the crafty kind of bods.
• Rural Arts now based at the Old Court House Westgate, all about involving people in dance, drama, music, textile, ceramic work and also have an On Tour scheme to small venues in North Yorkshire. Call in to see Gail, Janice, Angela at the new base ,,,, i nthe Court House
• The Zillah Bell Gallery is a real find - an extraordinary selection of work, ranging from £10,000 paintings by Royal Academicians to cheap and punchy work by young contemporaries. And it's big! Plus the usual embroidery, modelling, art shops &c.
