- pizza shop n hung moey on a friday n saterday nite bout 12 is a big attraction for people leavin the pubs
- The Raj of India is the people's choice for spicy delights. Euro Pizza is the only pizza shop worth considering, and Le Carolo is a brave attempt to sell French haute cuisine to a town full of inbreds and xenophobes. The Italian is the only pukka restaurant, but is booked up until 2008.
- The Balti House on Bridge Street has closed down..
this time forever. It's now the home of ECL Computers.
- The best curry house in town has reopened as the 'THIRSK BALTI', food is excellent and the USP is that they have no drinks licence so bring your own. It all adds up to a cheap night out !!!!
- Curry in Millagate and Long Street. Chinese in Finkle Street and the Market Place. Pizza in Millgate and the Market Place. Fish & Chips everywhere: Market Place, Kirkgate, Westgate &c &c Charles Bistro in Bakers Alley for great natural food. Yorke's Wholefood in the Market Place (daytime only) Good eating pubs nearby: The Old Oak Tree in South Kilvington and the Angel at Topcliffe
